Join the Longhorn Center for Community Engagement next Tuesday for the next Front Porch Gathering. Next week's dialogue will be on disproportionate disciplinary action in schools. Attendees will help the center build a guidebook that identifies tools to navigate disciplinary practices and assemble resources to support Black and Latinx students in Central Texas and ensure their success.

The Community Engagement Center introduces the Community Education Exchange (CEE). CEE is a six-week course with the goal to connect community members seeking to be informed and engaged with the Austin community with resources and thought leadership that help address community needs. CEE encourages community members to share knowledge on topics important to their communities and to connect with the people and resources at UT and in our community.

This workshop is designed to help you find your best funders and write successful proposals. Day one features presentations on developing strategies for successful proposals and finding potential funders. Day two you will focus on approaching prospective donors and drafting a powerful cover letter with the support of our grant writing professionals. The Judith Filler Foundation grant application is live!

The Foundation seeks to provide much-needed seed money and financial support to organizations seeking to end the death penalty in Texas that have committed members but limited financial resources to pursue their objective.

The Foundation anticipates providing approximately $45,000 in grants each year. Grant applications for this initial round of funding are due November 9, 2018.
