What a match and what an incredible turnout for the DFB Final between FC Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart ⚽🇩🇪🍺

A House Divided between the FC Bayern Fans of Texas and the VfB Stuttgart Central Texas fan base with 60+, which created an authentic German football atmosphere deep in the heart of Texas.

We’re building something special here. And after the match, everyone was back to being friends again while enjoying Paulaner.

And this may only be the beginning…

We’re already looking ahead to the fall and the possibility of an even larger Südderby between VfB Stuttgart and FC Bayern Munich as the foundations continue being laid for what could become the largest Südderby watch party in the world ! Complementing the already largest Der Klassiker watch party held each spring in Texas between FC Bayern Munich and Dortmund. All in Texas.

As we say in Texas…

Join us in New Braunfels this Saturday at 1pm at Krause's Cafe and Biergarten for the DFB Final and an afternoon of German football, beer, food, and community.

All fans of German soccer / Fußball are welcome. Wir sind Fußballer (enjoy the music)

Reserved tables will be set aside for supporters of each club.
And who knows… perhaps this becomes the beginning of an annual Südderby (South Derby) tradition each fall in New Braunfels. And who knows, maybe over time, it could even grow into the biggest Südderby watch party in the world — right here in Texas. 🇩🇪🔥

German-Texan Heritage Society (GTHS) had the great honor of hosting Dr. Mark Speich, Secretary General of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, along with Dr. Hardy Ostry and Syreta Haggray.

Great conversations were had surrounding Texas and Germany focus on technology, common culture, and the continued strengthening of relationships between our communities.

Events and discussions like these continue helping build important bridges between Texas and Germany through education, business, culture, and long-term collaboration.

The Germania Farmer Verein (German Farmer’s Club) was established in 1875 as a social and benevolent organization. For over 150 years the Verein has held a festival on the third Sunday of May and the third Sunday of October (Maifest and Oktoberfest)

Happy Father's Day in Germany!!! Alles gute zum Vatertag!

Father's Day is a little different in Germany. It's a day where father's spend it with their friends traveling with a beer wagon or doing a "pub crawl".

And it's celebrated on a Thursday. Allowing them to take Friday off to "recover" and enjoy a 4 day weekend. WELL PLAYED MEN OF GERMANY!! WELL PLAYED!!!

Actually - Father's Day in Germany has fallen on Ascension Day (Christi Himmelfahrt) since 370 AD. For those of you who missed that day in Sunday School… Ascension Day falls 40 days after Easter (the Thursday after the 5th Sunday), and is the day Jesus ascends into Heaven to sit with his Father.

Summer Camp Registration is open. Summer camps in June, July, and August.

During the summer we offer total immersion German language camps. The week-long camps are offered twice a month in June, July and once a month in August, in Austin.

Students (ages 3-6 in one class & 6 – 10 yrs in another) participate in summertime-themed learning, and through play, arts and crafts, theater, games, live entertainers and more.

What a joy it is to watch the next generation learning, singing, and embracing the German language and culture deep in the heart of Texas. Moments like these remind us why preserving language, heritage, and community matters for future generations.

They are the heart and soul behind the magic happening every day at the German International School (GIS) in Austin 🇩🇪❤️

Our teachers are appreciated more than they will ever truly know. Their passion, dedication, patience, and care are helping shape not only language skills, but also confidence, culture, community, and lifelong memories for our students.

What began in 2021 as a small Pre-K class has grown in just a few short years into a thriving German International School of Texas immersion school with more than 40 children — from toddlers all the way through next year’s 4th grade class.

None of this would be possible without these incredible educators who bring the German language and culture to life each and every day.
