We're getting everything ready for Austin Oktoberfest this 🇩🇪🍺 AUSTIN OKTOBERFEST IS ALMOST HERE! PROST, Y'ALL! 🍺🇺🇸

We're getting everything ready for Austin Oktoberfest this Saturday, October 10th, at our historic German Free School building and gardens in the heart of downtown Austin!

The Biergarten is coming together, preparations are underway, and we're getting ready for a full day of German food, b**r, music, and Gemütlichkeit!

☀️ And the weather? Looking great! Okay, still a little warm by Oktoberfest standards, but this is Texas! Most importantly, no rain in the forecast. We'll take it!

Come experience one of Austin's most traditional German celebrations in a truly unique setting in a historic German building dating back to 1857, surrounded by gardens, music, and plenty of Oktoberfest spirit.

🏛️ A little heads-up about our historic location: We have quite a few stairs throughout the property. Remember, the German Free School was built back in 1857, when accessibility wasn't exactly part of the architectural plans! That's part of the charm of celebrating in a building that's nearly 170 years old, but we want everyone to know what to expect before arriving.

Our director of the German International School of Texas at Austin, Constanze Heitkoetter, will read to you and your children. Bring a friend. No sign up needed but come early to reserve your spot.

O’zapft is! The keg has been tapped in Munich, and Oktoberfest is officially underway!

Austin Oktoberfest is coming soon—and people often ask why we celebrate later than Munich.

Have you ever been outside in Texas in September? It feels like the surface of the sun. That’s why.

Munich moved much of Oktoberfest into September for warmer weather. Here in Texas, we wait for October in hopes of cooler weather!
