More Texans may now qualify for homeownership assistance!

TSAHC has increased the income limits for both the Home Sweet Texas Home Loan Program and Homes for Texas Heroes Home Loan Program, making it possible for more Texas home buyers to access our homeownership programs.

New 2026 income limits:
• Home Sweet Texas: Up to 150% of Area Median Family Income (AMFI)
• Homes for Texas Heroes: Up to 170% of AMFI

The income limits shown above apply to major metro areas across Texas. If your household income does not exceed the applicable limit, you may qualify!

This exciting change helps TSAHC continue its mission to facilitate, preserve, and expand housing opportunities for Texans.

Not sure which program may be right for you? Take our Path Finder Quiz to explore your options and see which TSAHC program you may qualify for. Then, connect with a TSAHC-approved lender to take the next step toward homeownership!

Safety. Stability. A New Beginning. -
Expanding Our Support for Survivors Across Texas

Through our Prevention and Diversion Program,
Abda Agency has assisted individuals and families facing difficult and unexpected circumstances. In many of these cases, domestic violence has been a primary cause of housing instability, displacement, and financial hardship.

In response to this growing need, Abda Agency has launched our Safe Pathways program.

During the proposed 48-month project period, we anticipate serving at least 60 survivor households (approximately 15 households each year) throughout Texas. Participants may include survivors living independently, as well as survivors accompanied by children or other dependents.

Abda's Safe Pathways will provide transitional housing and voluntary, survivor-centered supportive services, including:

• Housing and relocation assistance
• Security and utility deposits
• Transportation and childcare assistance
• Case management and housing navigation
• Employment and financial education services
• Counseling and community-resource referrals
• Individualized voluntary support based on each
survivor’s needs

Our goal is to help survivors move from crisis and housing instability toward safety, stability, healing, and long-term independence.

As we prepare for this important expansion, please continue supporting Abda Agency through donations, partnerships, referrals, advocacy, and community engagement.

Please also watch for upcoming employment and volunteer opportunities associated with this project.

Together, we can help survivors rebuild their lives in safety and dignity.

Affordable housing agencies help preserve housing stability by providing services such as minor maintenance and home repair assistance and by connecting individuals and families with essential resources. Abda's Prevention and Diversion Program consists (partly) of projects that aim to address small repairs before they become major problems. When residents can remain safely housed, households are strengthened and the quality and stability of communities are protected.

Welcome to Abda Affordable Housing Agency, where we believe everyone deserves a place to call home. At Abda Affordable Housing Agency (*aka Abda Agency), we are dedicated to helping individuals and families obtain and maintain safe, comfortable, and affordable housing. Community partnerships make all the difference.

ABDA Agency sincerely thanks Lowe's and Store Manager Mr. Reese for donating a new water heater to help a family we serve.

Access to hot water is something many people take for granted, but for a family facing hardship, it can make a significant difference. This generous donation will help provide comfort and stability during a difficult time.

We appreciate Mr. Reese and the Lowe's team for their willingness to support our mission and invest in the well-being of our community.

Thank you for helping us serve families with dignity and care.

In response to increased needs for particular services sought via Diversion & Intervention, Abda Agency has launched our Domestic Violence Housing and Survivor Services Project.

Abda Safe Pathways: Statewide Transitional Housing and Survivor Stability Project

Abda Safe Pathways is a statewide transitional housing and stability project that is site and scattered site based. Services are open to adults and minors with or without children or other dependents who are homeless as a result of domestic violence and demonstrated threat to life situations. Safe Pathways aims to provide survivors with the following:

•Temporary housing
•Food, clothing, and basic necessities
•Helping survivors locate housing
•Paying deposits or emergency expenses
•Referrals from shelters or advocates
•Safety-related relocation
•Case management
•Housing counseling
•Transportation
•Employment or benefits assistance
•Outreach or education
•Advocacy with landlords
•Other individual need based services and Individualized support

We anticipate the impact of Safe Pathways to shift upwards from 11 households to 60 over the next 2 - 4 year span. That would be 120 - 180 total individuals, based on household size. Those figures could be affected by need and demand as the past has shown smaller projects afford opportunities to identify unmet needs in our communities and tend to outpace projections based on metrics and trends.
