SOTW: Amaris Sacalxot!
SPIRIT OF THE WEEK, MORE LIKE SPIRIT OF MY HEART!
Amaris was the first person I really bonded with in Spring 25. At a time when I was so overwhelmed and confused, Amaris took the time to understand me and also make me a feel a little less crazy.
I’ve never met someone so good at meeting people where they’re at, having an open mind and being understanding of everyone around them. Her presence is grounding and beautifully calm. She manages to approach every situation with logic and care. She’s the friend who’s always right, who’s willing to have an honest conversation and who wants to see you succeed. She truly wants to see everyone be the best version of themselves and will help them get there. She is endlessly kind and one of the most hard working people I know. She’s an engineering baddie and is so locked in but will always manage to be there for her friends. Even after being gone for a whole semester she’s managed to work her way into the hearts of everyone who’s just now getting the chance to meet her in person. I couldn’t imagine my life without her friendship!!!!

Dear Amaris,
My beautiful, incredibly smart, and funny baby drag! I will always have a soft spot for you! To be completely honest, I think it’s been a bit hard for us to bond a lot earlier because of distance and crazy schedules, but now that we’re all here again, we’ve been getting closer and I cannot describe how happy that makes me! Over time, I’m getting to know you more and more and you are truly a caring, SMART (again), funny, and supportive human being. I truly believe I will always remember seeing you again after your semester away being a corporate baddie when you hugged me so tight and it felt like everything was going to be alright. Dragon fam is growing so fast and I’ve already made such special memories with you, Camille, and Lyn, and there’s so many more to come. I am SO very excited. I smile when I think of you and your cute face, our fam, your warm hugs, and I couldn’t imagine having anyone else as my lovely little and my dear friend.
