This year, Project WISE brought authors into classrooms across the Austin area to spark creativity, encourage literacy, and show students the power of storytelling. 📚

Through WLT, students have been able to connect with writers in meaningful and engaging ways, helping inspire future readers and Texas authors alike.

If you’re an Austin-area public educator or librarian interested in participating, or a published author who would like to join our roster of paid presenters, we’d love to hear from you! And if you’d like to support Project WISE so we can continue offering this program free of charge to schools, you can donate through the link in our bio.

Join us next week for an extra special edition of One Page Salon!

Five outstanding writers — Claire Bowman, Taylor Howell, Katie Simon, Sherry Thomas, & MAYBE YOU? — will read one page from a work in progress or recently published work. It will be a night of revelry, literary fun, and exciting giveaways you won’t want to miss. One lucky audience member will get to read their work onstage & another will walk away with a ticket to our upcoming Agents & Editors Conference!

And, as always, will be onsite selling great reads, including our readers’ books 📚

This is our last OPS of the summer, so grab a page of that WIP & a good luck charm, and we’ll see you there 🎙️🐦✨

Time is running out to sign up for the event that’s been called “life changing” and “one of the best conferences in the country for writers looking to advance their careers.”

The last weekend in June, we’ll bring literary agents, book editors, and other industry professionals together with writers at all stages for a weekend of conversation and community centered around the craft and business of writing.

Today, we’re excited to provide a sneak peek inside the conference program to share our presentation line-up. During each of the weekend’s seven breakout sessions, you’ll have the option to learn more about the craft and business of writing directly from one of our visiting literary agents.

Sign up now to join us for an unforgettable weekend designed to help you write your next literal and metaphorical chapter. ✨📝

When a writer’s own obsessions intersect with a cultural phenomenon, the result can feel like catching lightning in a bottle. Delving into topics culturally beloved or charged, however, comes with its own set of challenges and rewards.

For our May Third Thursday, we’ll be joined by three authors who, with their recent books, have tapped into fandoms and waded into timely debates. We’ll hear from Jaime Formato (Roll for Initiative), A. Natasha Joukovsky (Medium Rare), and Jenny Tinghui Zhang (Superfan) on how they approached their hot topics and balanced competing interests from those that love and those that love to hate.

This conversation will be moderated by WLT Program Manager Lore Arnold.

This event is free and open to all - RSVP at the link in our bio!
