Lake Travis Voices For Progress

Lake Travis Voices For Progress The LT Voices for Progress is an action-focused, community-based organization that promotes the betterment of the Lake Travis area.

We support public education, responsible development, and embracing and including everyone in our community. LT Voices for Progress has implemented a few basic rules for posting so that we can maintain an orderly and effective page:

1) The purpose of LTVP's Facebook is to share our organization's mission, activities, and accomplishments in a positive manner. While we recognize that some

days are emotionally tougher than others, we strongly encourage posts of substance and actionable information.

2) Any links to articles, web pages, fundraisers, outside groups, etc. must directly pertain to issues in LTVP geographic areas (Lake Travis, Hudson Bend, Bee Cave, Lakeway, Steiner Ranch, Apache Shores, Cuernavaca, etc.). These links will be reviewed by an Admin and approved on a case-by-case basis. Anything "outside" may still be posted by the Board if they feel the information is particularly relevant to the general membership.

3) No rants of any kind, either as individual posts or as comments on posts. As representatives of LTVP, members are expected to conduct themselves with decorum and respect at all times. We will not entertain arguments with any individual or group. We will not use profanity, and we will not attack people or organizations.

Congratulations LTISD on getting an A!

Lake Travis was one of only two districts in the central Texas area that earned an A in the TEA ratings for 2026. All but two schools in the district earned an A (remaining two earned a B), which is significant improvement vs. 3 years ago.

Additional link to Lake Travis specific data is in the comments.

On Friday, the Texas Education Agency released the 2026 A-F Accountability Ratings for public schools and districts across the state.

“Texas law protects homeowners who wish to display political signs beginning 90 days before Election Day—a period that starts August 5 for the November 3 election.

While many HOA residents assume their association can prohibit campaign signs altogether, state law says otherwise.”

Texas law prevents homeowners associations from broadly banning campaign signs during election season, though certain restrictions still apply.

A new school year means new opportunities. Here's to the teachers, school staff, parents, and students who make our communities stronger every day. Every Texas child deserves a great public school and every educator deserves our respect and support.

As our kids head back into LTISD classrooms this week, you may be surprised, confused and angered to see something new on the walls. Our school district is now required BY LAW to put up large, donated Ten Commandment posters. Don’t like what you see? Take action now and vote these state politicians out in November!
