Operation Game Thief is Texas' wildlife Crime-stoppers program, offering rewards of up to $1,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction for a wildlife crime. Begun in 1981 as a result of laws passed by the 67th Legislature to help curtail poaching, the program, a function of the law enforcement division of Texas Parks and Wildlife, is highly successful, having been responsible for

the payment of over $195,000.00 in rewards. Privately funded, the program is dependent on financial support from the public through the purchase of OGT memberships and merchandise, donations, sponsorships, and gifts.

On November 1, 2025, inside a training area on JBSA-Camp Bullis, a game camera captured an individual who did not have consent to be hunting on the property. The individual was outfitted with a PSE Mach Series compound bow, KUIU camouflage, Vortex binoculars, a rangefinder, and a mechanical release trigger attached to their right hand.

💰REWARD💰 For information leading to the conviction of the person or persons responsible for this illegal act.

On the afternoon of Sunday, June 7th Game Wardens in Rusk County received a call concerning a dead alligator in Striker Creek underneath the FM 839 bridge. Wardens found a 7 foot alligator with a bullet hole on the top of its head behind its eyes. The alligator had been illegally shot and left to waste. The alligator is believed to have been killed between June 3rd and June 7th
