On Monday, October 5th, The Wonan’s Club of Fort Worth hung pink ribbons all along the fencing around the beautiful clubhouse. GFWC-Texas President-elect, Dr. Kathy Horak Smith joined GFWC Fort Worth Woman’s Club President, Mary Ripperton and other members for a morning of fun, remembrance, and reflection. If you are in Fort Worth during the month of October you’ll see about 900 pink ribbons to help you remember that it is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Get your mammograms scheduled, ladies!

It's WHRC Wednesday! This week, we kindly direct your attention to the October "From the Archives" blog post, where we take a look at some of the early GFWC leaders featured in one of the treasures of the WHRC collections: the "Founders Book." Prepared around 1894, this unique volume includes essays, club lists, and - best of all - over thirty original photographs of women who led the early Federation, without whose work the organization might not have endured for over a century.
