Preparing for life after high school starts before graduation.

For Deaf and hard of hearing youth and young adults, Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) can provide support as they explore education, training, employment, and future career goals.

This 5-tip resource breaks down VR in an approachable way—from eligibility and accommodations to meetings, follow-up, and self-advocacy.

👩‍🏫 Deaf Ed teachers and transition professionals: Print or share it as a resource when discussing transition planning and VR.

👨‍👩‍👧 Families: If you have a Deaf or hard of hearing teen approaching transition age, this can help you and your child learn more about available supports and what to expect.

💼 Youth and young adults: Use it to better understand VR, prepare for meetings, identify your access needs, and practice advocating for yourself.

During the playgroup, families have opportunities to:
🤝 Network with other families
💬 Learn two strategies related to early language acquisition
📍 Learn about resources available in their area

And, of course, there’s plenty of time for little ones to play, explore, and interact!

What makes someone—or a beloved pet—beautiful? ❤️

In The Ugliest Dog in the World, one dog may look unusual to others, but to the person who loves her, she is beautiful just as she is.

It’s a simple reminder for children that different doesn’t mean less worthy of love. 🐾
