Today, we honor Juneteenth, a day that commemorates freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of justice. While June 19, 1865 marked the emancipation of the last enslaved Black Americans in Texas, Juneteenth is also a reminder that freedom is not a destination but a continuous commitment to equity, dignity, and belonging.

At I Slay, we believe every body deserves to be safe, celebrated, and free to belong. Our work is rooted in creating community where people are valued for exactly who they are and where barriers to inclusion are challenged and dismantled. As we recognize Juneteenth, we also recognize the contributions, leadership, and lived experiences of Black community members whose voices continue to shape movements for justice and liberation.

Today, we encourage our community to learn, reflect, support Black-owned businesses, engage in local celebrations, and honor the legacy of those who fought and continue to fight for a more equitable future.

Freedom matters. Belonging matters. Community matters.

Who's joining us for Pilates this Sunday? 💪✨

If you've been thinking about trying it, this is your sign! Our Pilates class is all about movement, community, and showing up exactly as you are.

No experience? Perfect.
Not sure if you're "fit enough"? You are.
Need fancy equipment? Nope.

All you need is your body as it is, some water, and a can-do attitude. We create a welcoming, inclusive space where beginners are encouraged, supported, and celebrated every step of the way.

Happy Pride Month from I Slay! 🌈

At I Slay, we believe every body deserves to be safe, celebrated, and free to belong. Pride is a reminder that our differences are not something to hide. They are something to honor. It is a time to celebrate authenticity, self expression, community, and the courage it takes to show up as yourself in a world that does not always make space for everyone.

As a community rooted in the lived experiences of plus size individuals, we know how important belonging is. We know what it feels like to search for spaces where you are welcomed exactly as you are. That is why we are committed to creating a community where people of all sizes, abilities, identities, and backgrounds can show up fully, take up space unapologetically, and be celebrated for who they are.

This month and every month, we celebrate and support our LGBTQIA+ community members. Your joy matters. Your stories matter. Your presence makes our community stronger.

We believe that everybody deserves the freedom to express themselves, to find connection, and to experience the joy that comes from being accepted exactly as they are.

So this Pride Month, and every month after, we invite you to keep showing up as your authentic self. Keep taking up space. Keep finding joy. Keep building community. Keep slaying.

What a beautiful day of community, connection, and great finds! 💖

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our Monthly Plus Size Clothing Swap. It was so good seeing all of your beautiful faces and spending the afternoon together at . We hope you enjoyed the delicious coffee, pastries, sweet treats, and welcoming atmosphere as much as we did.

We’re incredibly grateful to be welcomed into spaces like this and to have a community that continues to show up, support one another, and make these events so special. Whether you left with a new favorite piece, made a new friend, or simply enjoyed being in community, we hope you had an amazing time.

A huge thank you to our volunteers who helped make the day run smoothly—we couldn’t do this without you! ✨

Our next Clothing Swap is happening in a new location: Quacks on Menchaca, so please take a few minutes to swipe through this guide before you arrive (& for our full FAQ head to our website!)

We’ve put together everything you need to know, including parking, check-in, what to bring, swap guidelines and important reminders to help make the day run smoothly for everyone.

✨ A few quick reminders:

💖 Have your QR code ready when you check in.
💖 Follow all event signage and directions once you arrive.
💖 Need help? Look for our board members and volunteers wearing pink lanyards. They’re happy to answer questions and help you navigate the space.
💖 Please follow all swap guidelines so we can keep this event welcoming, organized and fair for everyone.
💖 Most importantly… have fun, meet people and enjoy the swap!

We updated our mission and here's why it matters. 🎉

I Slay has always been rooted in the lived experience of plus-size individuals. Our new mission makes that explicit: every body, regardless of size, ability, or background, is safe, celebrated, and free to belong.

This isn't just a word change. It's a declaration. We're not defined by a number on a scale we're defined by our values, our history, and the people who built this movement from the inside out.

Inspired by the "nothing about us without us" principle, we believe those who have felt medical dismissal and social exclusion should stay in the driver's seat. And we believe our doors stay open because once you're rooted in this lived experience, you belong here.

The world should finally be built to fit us all. 💕
