Hello all,

I wanted to send out a friendly reminder about our National Convention assistance. Please see my message below

Hello everyone,

The Austin Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Texas is
offering 4 $250 universal gift cards for assistance to our National
Convention in Houston, Texas July 1st-6th.

In order to apply, you will need to be attending National Convention
in-person and meet a designated member of our Board in General Session
to pick up the gift card if chosen. You will also be asked to write a
Newsline article talking about your overall convention experience,
what meetings you attended, what you learned from them and how you can
bring what information you gained back to our chapter to benefit its
growth.

We are also asking you to forward your convention registration
confirmation form to President Jonathan Franks at
[email protected]
If you have applied for other assistance whether through the
Affiliate, Kenneth Jernigan Convention Scholarship or any other
assistance, we ask you to make the decision to accept either that
assistance or the one we are providing.
If you are interested in applying, please submit your answers to
President Franks no later than 11:59PM on May 21st. If we have more
than 4 submissions, we will have a sub-committee of Board members read
the submissions to vote fairly and impartially based on need.

Questions to answer:
1. Is this your first National Convention? (In-person).
2. If not, how many Conventions have you attended?
3. Are you a paid member of the Austin Chapter for 2023?
4. How many Chapter meetings have you attended this year whether
in-person or virtually?
5. Are you subscribed to NFB Newsline
6. What are you most looking forward to checking out or learning
about at the Convention?
7. Are you employed?

Kind regards,
Jonathan Franks MSW

characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create
obstacles between blind people and our dreams.
