NEWS FLASH. The spirit of Christstmas and Guardian Angels are alive and well in Austin, Indiana. As many of you know, the Austin Lions Club has sold fruit at Christmas, as one of our fund raisers for over 50 years. This year we had a bit of a challenge. On the last day of sales, we had over 12 boxes of fruit. That is over a thousand pieces of fruit. Glen Hollan was up at the depot, well, before we opened and 2 people came in, looked around and said "we will take it all". Glen jumped on that like a jack rabbit. There were conditions, we had to divide the fruit up and deliver it to all the nursing homes in the area, with the message that it was from Santa. The 3 elves (Glen Hollan, Dillo Bush and I) got busy and loaded up the sleigh ( my truck) and headed out to 5 sites. The staff and residents were overjoyed. This single act of kindness made hundreds of nursing home residents happy and allowed the Lions Club funding for our scholarship program and other community focused efforts. As for we three "not so wise men", "we believe". Merry Christmas to everyone and remember, the Lord always provides as path in times of need.

Austin Lions Club will be extending fruit sales Sunday 1:00 to 4:00 Monday and Tuesday 12 to 6. We have navel oranges, red delicious apples, salted peanuts, gift boxes and gift baskets. Come on down. We have marked our prices down.
