Spotlight 🌟
Last Thursday we wrapped up National Apprenticeship Week with a registered apprenticeship panel. Justin Adair from the Southern Regional Council of Carpenters and Joshua Balzer from the IBEW Local 520 shared valuable insights into their programs and discussed how the skilled trades can be a rewarding way to jumpstart a career. 😎🎉

We’d like to give a HUGE ‘Thank You’ to AYW’s Director of Operations, Dylan Brown, for conducting our 6-week OSHA 30 Certification Training. It was a fun class! 🤩💫

Reminder: From April 6 through May 11, customers at more than 1,200 stores nationwide can round up their purchase or make a donation to support . The campaign helps “opportunity youth”—young people out of school and work—earn their education, gain job skills, and become community leaders.

Funds raised will strengthen YouthBuild’s network of over 340 local programs, expand career pathways, and invest in new tools like VR learning, mental health counseling, and construction training. Past Burlington grants have already powered these innovations across the country.

A small group of YB participants attended Workforce Solutions’ inaugural Next Level Ready event this past Tuesday, designed to connect high school seniors with local education providers and employers and allow them to practice their networking skills. 😎✨

The event opened with presentations from representatives of Amplify Credit Union and HR professionals from a local staffing agency. Participants gained insight into banks vs. credit unions, workplace expectations & hiring practices. 💪✨

Following the presentations, participants took part in a free-flow networking session where they connected directly with education providers and employers.
