The Food and Nutrition Service is planning to force employees working in food assistance programs to relocate to offices around the country. These NTEU-represented employees put food on the table for more than 80 million Americans. Now they could be forced to make an impossible choice: uproot their families or lose their jobs. Our chapter remembers and thanks the Hunter family for all they have done to help Vernon's colleagues during these 16 sad years.

Chapter 52 is eternally grateful to the support of NTEU National and our sister chapters in honoring and remembering the IRS employees and their families who were impacted by the actions of a domestic terrorist in Austin.

On this sad day, we remember. We never stopped mourning.

We honor the memory of former NTEU member Vernon Hunter, who was killed 16 years ago in a su***de plane attack on an IRS building in Austin, Texas. We remember those injured and the heroic IRS employees who helped rescue their colleagues on that tragic day.
