10,000+ volunteers. One day. Zero party lines. 🗳️

National Voter Registration Day exists to do one thing: get eligible citizens registered — full stop. No agenda beyond that.

Organizations like the League of Women Voters, born out of the suffragist movement in 1920, have spent over a century doing exactly this work: protecting and expanding the vote through pure, nonpartisan education.

Susan B. Anthony co-founded the National Woman Suffrage Association and helped lay the groundwork for the 19th Amendment.

Ida B. Wells marched for that same suffrage movement — while also working as a Black journalist refusing to be erased from a fight she helped build.

Today, it takes a lot less courage — just a few minutes. You need to be 18, a U.S. citizen, and a resident of your state.

That’s it.

Alliances are how rights get won and kept. The League. The suffragists. The volunteers still knocking on doors today.

We’re an Alliance too! So today we’re celebrating the volunteers who show up at tables and doorsteps every single year to make sure more voices count.

Find one, say thanks, and let them help you check your registration status, confirm your polling place, or just get your questions answered.

This isn’t about who you vote for. It’s about making sure you can.💜

9/11 — A Day of Remembrance
Twenty-five years later, we still carry it: the lives lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, the strength that rose from the ash.

Today we also remember the journalists and media professionals who didn't just cover this story, they became part of it.

Photojournalist Bill Biggart ran toward the World Trade Center with his cameras and was killed when the second tower collapsed.

AP photographer Gulnara Samoilova made that same run toward the towers, watching the South Tower fall through her own viewfinder before being engulfed in the collapse and going on to capture some of the day's most enduring images.

Alongside them, six broadcast engineers stayed at their posts atop the North Tower's antenna to keep the signal alive, including Isaias Rivera, Bob Pattison, and Thomas Pecorelli.

They believed the story mattered enough to run toward it. As the Alliance for Women in Media, we honor their courage and their commitment to telling the truth even in the final moments.
We will never forget.
