Our monthly series Creative Departures is heading to its next destination, Praxis Coffee, and the cabin is open for boarding.

We’re still traveling with a No Phones: Just Art policy. This is your chance to step away from the screen, bring a project to work on with your hands, or simply hold space for deep creative conversations.

We had a great weekend at Austin Studio Tour last weekend. We have so many amazing opportunities coming!
Join us this Native American Heritage Day for a community clean-up in historic Montopolis ✊🏾 the city that came before Austin.

We’ll be meeting at 12 PM under the Montopolis Bridge and heading into Roy G Guerrero Park to give back to a place shaped by deep history, resilience, and stories of gentrification.

All supplies are provided by , and everyone is welcome, families, kids, pets, and friends. If you’re celebrating Thanksgiving this week, this is a meaningful way to honor the spirit of giving and community.

Attention all _OFCOLOR travelers 🧳

Are you an aspiring curator, public programmer or community builder?

You may be perfect for our Emerging Curator Fellowship!

We’re connecting with the Austin Public Library to allow new curators to gain hands-on experience in creating exhibitions, public programming, and community engagement.

This seven month program includes:

- $1000 Stipend 💰
- Working with experienced curators 🎨
- Developing exhibitions and programs 🖼️
- Exploring tools for sustainable public programming 💫

Important dates 🗓️

- Deadline: Dec 7 at 11:59pm
- Review Period: Dec 7-20
- Selection: Dec 21
- Onboarding Session: Jan 5, 2026
- First Workshop & Opening Reception: Jan 22

Requirements:

- You must reside in Texas
- Attend an in-person meeting every fourth Thursday of the month

The deadline for submissions is December 1st!
