The Games for Life is open to all residents of long term care (skilled nursing facilities, nursing homes, assisted living). Competitive pride is strong!

The Games provides a powerful example to every other major city in how to create dynamic life enrichment opportunities for long-term care residents. Events test and reward both physical and mental skill, with an emphasis on fun and the message that ‘you’re never too old to play”. Participants compete in both individual and team events for medals, bragging rights and the ultimate team title of Gran

d Champion. Many long term care facilities run training programs to help residents prepare for the Games. In 2015 Games for Life competitors ranged in age from 35 to 102.

A sad update about this weekend's Games for Life

Dear Participants, Sponsors, and Volunteers,

We regret to inform you that The Games for Life event, scheduled to take place at the University of Texas, has been postponed. This decision was made due to the university's unwillingness to provide adequate parking facilities for our event.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. However, we want to assure you that The Games for Life will go on. We are actively seeking an alternative facility to host the event and ensure that it meets the standards and requirements necessary for a successful and enjoyable experience for all participants.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support during this time. Rest assured, we are committed to delivering an outstanding event, and we will keep you updated on any developments regarding the new venue and date.

Have you heard our fantastic news? The Games for Life is back this year and we're thrilled to be returning to our old home on the UT Campus in Austin. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 27th at the Recreational Sport Center. All the details are on our website and we'll be adding more updates as we get closer.

Due to road closures, flooding and declining weather conditions the Games For Life Dallas Fort Worth have been cancelled. Fees will be refunded and any arts and crafts or banners should be picked up sometime today from the Maverick Activity Center. We apologize for this inconvenience but the residents safety must come first. Thank you for understanding, Jeff
