Rockport-Fulton Hurricane Relief dba Rockport-Fulton Hurricane Relief ("RFHR") is a 501(c)(3) charitable Texas nonprofit corporation (No. 1234567) formed to provide disaster relief to Rockport-Fulton and the surrounding areas. RFHR’s purpose is to partner with the local community to leverage
its resources to positively impact the local community. RFHR’s has 501(c)(3) “tax exempt status” as approved by the IRS. RFHR evolved over the weekend of August 25th as numerous displaced and expatriate natives of Rockport-Fulton and the surrounding areas desperately texted, emailed, called, and messaged one another for news of loved ones. As we watched the place we call home being literally blown away on screens wherever we found ourselves, we organically came together and decided to do what we could to help. Using a combination of business, outreach, logistical, and organizational skills of the people on our various communication chains, we did our best to provide accurate, up to date, verified information to people via Facebook about what was going on on the ground and the status of family members who had stayed behind to brave the storm. After a heartbreaking weekend of watching, waiting, praying, and fervently communicating, we put together this Texas non-profit in order to further the purpose of providing, information, logistical assistance, relief, and recovery assistance to the Rockport-Fulton area.
