🐙🎉 Comment “OCTO” below if you want the link to watch right now! Yup, a whole Netflix movie where a giant Pacific octopus is a main character!

Remarkably Bright Creatures is officially streaming NOW

Who here read the book by Shelby Van Pelt? ...Go watch the movie and report back here!

Marcellus is a giant Pacific octopus living in a small Puget Sound aquarium, narrating his observations of the humans around him…same species, same neck of the ocean as the real ones we’re always posting about here! He’s Voiced by Alfred Molina (yes, Doc Ock is now voicing an actual octopus).

Oh…more about the humans in the movie 😅
Sally Field plays Tova, a quiet, grieving widow who cleans the aquarium at night and ends up forming the most unlikely friendship of her life.

Lewis Pullman plays Cameron, a broke young guy who lost his job, his girlfriend, and his apartment, and finds himself working at the aquarium.

And Marcellus, the giant Pacific octopus watching from the corner tank, sees what neither of them can… The smartest character on screen has eight arms. And he’s paying attention! 🐙

We started OctoNation because we wanted the world to see how remarkable octopuses were… observant, intelligent, and wayyYyYy more aware of what’s going on than most give them credit for.

Watching this trailer for the first time was the closest we’ve ever come to feeling like every late-night blog post and every “octopuses are endlessly fascinating” comment we’ve made over the past decade just got handed the world’s largest streaming platform as a megaphone!

If ya read this far... grab some snacks, share this with your group chat, and let us know when you’re gonna watch it!

We can’t welcome all the new octo-fans with open arms x8. 💙💙

Comment OCTO below & we’ll jet over the link to watch! 🐙💨

How many hearts does an octopus have?
Most people know the answer is three. But here's what most people DON'T know...

One of those hearts actually STOPS every time the octopus swims.

Which is why octopuses prefer to crawl instead of swim.

So wait... if one heart stops when they swim, what are the other two doing? And why would evolution build a circulatory system like this?!

We broke it all down here -

An octopus has three hearts...BUT the real surprise is what happens when they swim! One heart stops completely. Here's the science behind the most remarkable circulatory system in the ocean.
