Many students are stressed due to the pandemic and virtual learning. Imagine having to deal with this, and the trauma of abuse or neglect and being removed from your home at the same time. Connect for Success tutors have stepped up for 22 kids in foster care since August 2020 to show them they are not alone and that someone is in their corner to give them the one on one help they need to learn.

The study by NBC News and Challenge Success is one of the first to shed light on differences between students who are online-only and those in classrooms.

Welcome! We are excited to launch this page and spread the word about Connect for Success. We started the program in August 2020 as a pilot under Foster Village, and because of the ongoing need and success we've experienced, we're creating a nonprofit to sustain this program and scale it up to meet the need. We screen, train, and support tutors who are matched with kids in foster care in central Texas who need some extra help in school. 75 percent of the kids in the program reported improving academically within three months of being in the program. We're proud of this and want to do even more - please like our page and spread the word!
