Edward's University in Austin, Texas, whose goal is to provide youth who identify or may identify as LGBTQ in foster care with the same love and compassion as straight youth in their communities and families. We do this through connecting them with programs and families prepared to support them through adolescence, a period where pressures from school, friends, and the community can cause depressi
on, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts for individuals in this population. Our goal is to use policy change at the state level to introduce programs and services for these youth and provide to foster families the informational and emotional support needed to nurture LGBTQ youth throughout their time in foster care and their transition out of the system. Through this movement, we hope to improve outcomes for foster children as they grow into capable, confident adults. Foster Love believes that all children deserve the same love and care, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation. Visit:
