Kesem at University of Texas - Austin Kesem at UT Austin supports children through and beyond a parent's cancer, Central Texas area!

Kesem is a nationwide community, driven by passionate college student leaders, that supports children through and beyond a parent’s cancer. Its mission is to support these children with innovative, fun filled programs that foster a lasting community. Kesem programs have a lasting impact on children by providing them a peer-support network that understands their unique needs, builds confidence and

strengthens their communication skills. The flagship program of Kesem, Camp Kesem, operates 131 free summer camps across the country for children ages 6 to 18 who have been impacted by a parent’s cancer. Camp Kesem at University of Texas at Austin was founded in 2011 and supports children in the Austin community by providing a free two week-long summer camp experience and year-round peer support. Camp Kesem at University of Texas at Austin is operated by approximately 250 student volunteers and serves around 265 campers ages 6-18 per year. In 2019, Kesem served more than 10,200 children coast-to-coast—all funded by generous donations from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners. Kesem is a federally registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
