HELP DEQUAN GET TO KAZAKHSTAN!

Meet Dequan Hunt-Bowman, a 17-year-old visually impaired athlete from Michigan with some BIG goals!

Dequan is a multi-sport athlete who competes in track for his high school and travels across the country competing in goalball, a team sport created specifically for athletes who are blind or visually impaired. His dedication to the sport has now earned him an incredible opportunity: representing Team USA at the Youth World Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan, November 26–December 5! 🥅🌎

For Dequan, this trip represents much more than one competition. It is another step toward his ultimate dream of someday competing in the Paralympic Games. 🏅

To participate, Dequan is responsible for raising $7,000 to help cover registration, airfare, lodging, meals, and other essential expenses.

That’s where our MBAA community comes in. ❤️

o🏐 Sonics Training Weekend is coming up!

Join the Michigan Blind Athletic Association for a weekend of training, team building, and fun at Camp Tushmeheta! This weekend is open to youth and adults ages 16+ and is a great opportunity to build skills, connect with fellow athletes, and enjoy time together.

📅 September 25–27
📍 Camp Tushmeheta | Greenville, MI
🕔 Check-in: September 25, 5–8 PM
🕒 Check-out: September 27, 3 PM

The weekend will include multiple training sessions, lodging in the Birch and Maple Cabins, meals at White Pine Lodge, and team-building opportunities that may include challenge course activities, canoeing, and other outdoor activities.
