Our chapter welcomes our community partners, chapter members, guests, and local area veterans to our General Membership Meeting as we celebrate the U.S. Army’s 251st Birthday.

We are honored to welcome our guest speaker, Jose A. Escobedo, State Command Sergeant Major of the Texas Army National Guard.

AUSA chapter members, guests, and local area veterans are cordially invited to the Association of the United States Army, Texas Capital Area Chapter general membership meeting on 3 December 2025.

We will celebrate the 389th National Guard Birthday with a cake cutting ceremony and hear an update of on-going missions of the Texas National Guard from Major General Monie R. Ulis, the Deputy Adjutant General of Texas - Army.

Additionally, we will conduct chapter elections. The nominees are COL (Ret) Chris Doneski for Chapter President and MG (Ret) Gregg Potter for 1st VP. Our chapter will also present to the Texas Military Department our annual contribution to support military families during the Christmas Holiday Season

Wednesday, 1 October 2025 – General Membership Meeting

AUSA chapter members, guests, and local area veterans are cordially invited to the Association of the United States Army, Texas Capital Area Chapter general membership meeting on1 October 2025.

Our guest speaker will be BG Antony R. Gibbs, Director of Integration, U.S. Army Futures Command. BG Gibbs began serving as the Director of Integration at U.S. Army Futures Command in May 2025. In this executive role, he is responsible for synchronizing the strategy, concepts, requirements and resources to create integrated solutions addressing critical prioritized capability gaps. A native of Davisville, Missouri, BG Gibbs received his commission as an Infantry Officer through the Reserve Officer Training Corps in May 1997.

COL (Ret) Doug O’Connell is well known across Texas as one of the finest criminal defense attorneys in the state. He has a well-earned reputation as a fierce advocate and unrelenting attorney who fights for his clients. Doug is also nationally recognized for his work defending military service members and law enforcement officers. He also is frequently called on to consult on complex, multi-jurisdictional cases where veterans or service members face criminal or civil charges with significant career and family implications.
