Did you know that it usually takes 15-20 years for a woman to be ready to talk about and begin healing from a past abortion in her life? This was true for my birth mother...Her abortion was her family secret. No one knew about her abortion until I met her after searching for her with the help of my adoption agency. Once she told me the truth about her abortion that she had while she was pregnant with me, a huge weight lifted off her shoulders. She began to dig up what she had burried away and slowly but surely, she began to find freedom and forgiveness from a decision that held a grip on her for so long. It is part of the reason I am outspoken about our experience with abortion. Women deserve to experience freedom and healing after abortion. God sent His son, Jesus, to the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and we do not have to carry the weight alone. Placing your hope and trust in Christ means the forgiveness covers you.

"The report, released by the (CLI) on Tuesday, found that 81% of online abortion drug sellers are actively ignoring the federal safety guidelines, amounting to 64 vendors. The study further found that eight online-only organizations are violating state pro-life laws by shipping abortion pills into those states."

Texas is one of the states with life protected from conception, whose laws are being violated with the shipment of abortion pills into our state. It's time for the federal government to enforce the Comstock Act and for the FDA to stop allowing abortion pills to be shipped into pro-life states.

The abolitionists claim abortion numbers in Texas are the same or greater than when abortion was legal in 2019. Look closer at their own graph. More than half of the 2024 abortions shown for Texas occurred out of state. The in-state clinician-provided abortions dropped from 55,966 in 2019 to 78 in 2024, all for reasons of protecting the life or health of the mother. That is the Human Life Protection Act working. The illegal mail-order drugs problem is real and must be addressed. And we can’t assume numbers sent equals numbers taken, a gap the chart acknowledges. To address the fact that even one chemical abortion illegally trafficked into our state is too many, we call for enforcement of the Comstock Act and for the FDA to reverse its lax regulations, allowing the pills to circumvent state pro-life laws like Texas’s protecting life from conception. The graph the abolitionists use actually proves our laws are working, not that they aren’t.
