Not only is U.S. crude oil production on track to achieve record highs in 2026, new U.S. Energy Information Administration data shows U.S. natural gas production also is at an all-time high. According to the EIA, U.S. natural gas output reached a new record over the summer.

A new notice from the Railroad Commission of Texas highlights anticipated El Niño conditions this coming winter, which could bring cooler, wetter weather across Texas. The commission encourages oil and gas and pipeline operators to prepare for potential extreme weather events: https://www.rrc.texas.gov/announcements/10022026-nto-winter-weather-forecast/ .

Today, the RRC issued a Notice to Operators for the upcoming winter weather season. The notice highlights anticipated El Niño conditions, which could bring cooler, wetter weather across Texas and encourages oil and gas and pipeline operators to prepare for potential extreme weather events.

The RRC also reminds operators of its 24-hour, toll-free emergency line at 844-773-0305 to report emergencies, including leaks, spills or damage to gas pipelines.
