To all the moms who wear the badge, hold the line at home, and give their hearts to this community—Happy Mother’s Day. 💙
Today we honor the women of the Austin Police Department and beyond who are juggling call-outs, court dates, night shifts, and school drop‑offs; who show up for their families and still find the strength to show up for Austin. Your courage, compassion, and sacrifice make our city safer and our profession stronger.
From your sisters in the Austin Police Women’s Association, thank you for the unseen emotional labor, the missed holidays, and the countless moments you give up so others can be protected. We see you, we stand with you, and we celebrate you today and every day.
To all the mothers, mother figures, and those who love like a mom—inside and outside the uniform—Happy Mother’s Day from the APWA. 💐

Last night was an incredible success as we celebrated 50 years of women serving with the Austin Police Department, and we are so grateful to everyone who joined us!

We are proud to share that the entire event was funded through private donations, and we could not have done it without the generosity of our sponsors. Your support directly invests in the women of APD and the work we do in our community.

A special thank-you to 512 Boutique Catering for the amazing food and yummy drinks that made the evening even more memorable, and to the wonderful St. Albert the Great parish members who helped with setup and behind-the-scenes support. We appreciate each of you who helped make this milestone celebration so special.

Here’s to another 50! 💙🙏🥂

Today, the men and women of the Flower Mound Police Department Texas mourn the passing of Support Services Lieutenant Suzanne Reed, who died this morning following a medical emergency while off duty.

Lt. Reed began serving our community in 2006. Throughout her tenure, she held numerous roles, including Patrol Officer, Marine Safety Enforcement Officer, Mental Health Peace Officer, Crisis Negotiator Team Leader, Police Training Officer, SFST (Standard Field Sobriety Testing) and PPCT (Pressure Point Control Tactics) Instructor, Crime Analyst, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, and Patrol Lieutenant, before accepting her most recent assignment as the Support Services Lieutenant. Lt. Reed was a key figure within our department and spearheaded the 30 x 30 initiative, which seeks to increase the number of female officers within the ranks of FMPD.

Lt. Reed will be remembered for her exceptional work ethic, diligence, and unwavering reliability throughout her career. A highly respected officer, she was twice awarded FMPD Officer of the Year. In 2014, we were proud to accompany her to Austin, where she received the State of Texas Senate Award in recognition of her outstanding service. She served our community with the highest level of integrity and dedication and will be deeply missed by all of us at the department, her colleagues across the Town, and the many community members whose lives she touched throughout her career.

Lt. Reed’s legacy will continue to live on through her loving wife, Jill, and the countless individuals she impacted. As Lt. Reed’s watch comes to an end, we ask our community to join us in honoring her memory.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽💙🇺🇸
