FFA creates a collaborative global community for mission-driven film festivals.

The Film Festival Alliance was established in 2015 as an independent non-profit organization to develop and foster collaboration among mission-driven film festivals around the world. We offer programs, online resources, and an annual conference to share ideas, build bridges with filmmakers and distributors, and strengthen our burgeoning industry.

Submissions are open for the 8th Annual Monmouth Film Festival, happening May 20–23, 2027, at Bell Works in Holmdel, NJ, the iconic location featured in Apple TV+’s Severance.

From features and shorts to documentaries, animation, and everything in between, they’re welcoming filmmakers and storytellers from around the world to submit their work.

- Screen alongside an international lineup of independent filmmakers.
- Premiere your work in New Jersey — the rapidly growing Hollywood East.
- Experience one of the East Coast’s most distinctive festival venues.
- Connect through screenings, Q&As, panels, workshops, networking, and special events.

For 2027, the festival is expanding the filmmaker experience with new opportunities for screenwriters and student filmmakers, alongside their traditional festival programming.

ABOUT THE FILM:
A decade after her Academy Award–nominated and Emmy Award–winning documentary 13th, Ava DuVernay is turning her lens on the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Written in the wreckage of the Civil War, the 14th Amendment was meant to close the door on the hierarchy of human worth. Instead, it has become the subject of a permanent argument. Ava DuVernay’s 14th pulls this constitutional fight out of the footnotes and into the present, chronicling the vicious battle over the amendment that has raged for over 150 years.

Threading deep archival scholarship with piercing headlines from today, 14th brings together legal minds, politicians, historians, and cultural voices in direct conversation with a question America still hasn’t settled: Who gets to belong?

Calling all programmers, festival organizers, critics and more!

The Ouray Film Sabbatical, hosted by the minds behind FFA Member Ouray Film Festival, gives people from all disciplines in the industry a rare chance to connect: a space where every corner of the industry can gather to brainstorm, mingle, and invest time in the ideas they wish they had time to nurture year-round. It also allows time for something that feels incredibly scarce in this industry - rest and relaxation. And it’s ✨fully funded✨
