Addicus was a beloved rescue dog and through her legacy we want to save and rehome as many adoptable dogs as possible! Please share this page and encourage friends that are interested in getting a dog to adopt from a rescue and not support pet store puppy mills. There is an over population of dogs and we really do not need to be breeding more! Educate! Spay/Neuter! Rescue! We save many dogs from i

ncredibly high kill shelters, in some cities the crisis is so terrible, they euthanize 5,000 dogs a year! Most of the dogs are adopted in Texas and in the New England area, but let us know if you fall in love with one you see online! We did the same thing, that's why we saved them! Addicus' Legacy is always looking for people provide "foster homes" in the New England area and Texas for the dogs we rescue. That means providing a temporary place for one of the dogs to stay until we can find them their "furever home". Did you realize that by just giving a pooch a place to crash you are actually saving their life? The dogs are usually adopted in approximately 1-4 weeks. Years ago, Lydia was adopted and we thought her story had a happy ending.

Then last summer, we received heartbreaking news that this sweet girl was being kept on a chain.

We refused to give up on her.

With the help of dedicated volunteers, transporters, fosters, and supporters, we moved mountains to bring Lydia back to safety and give her the second chance she deserved.

Today, Lydia's foster mom received a visit from her, and just look at her now.

Loved. Safe. Happy.

She is thriving in her new home, adored by her parents, and living the life every dog deserves.

This is why we never stop fighting for them. Sometimes rescue isn't just about saving a dog once—it's about being there when they need us again.

When Posey first came to Addicus, she was in rough shape.

This sweet girl arrived severely matted, with a broken pelvis, and in desperate need of medical care. As we learned more about her injuries, we discovered she also needed an FHO surgery. Between surgery, recovery, physical therapy, and lots of love, Posey had a long road ahead of her.

But she never gave up.

Today, we received these photos from her mom, and they brought tears to our eyes.

Just look at her now.

Healthy. Happy. Beautiful. Loved.

The frightened, injured dog who arrived needing so much help has blossomed into a thriving family member living her very best life.

These are the moments that remind us why rescue matters. Every vet visit, every mile driven, every sleepless night, every dollar raised—it all becomes worth it when we see dogs like Posey living the life they always deserved.

Happy tails, sweet girl. We couldn't be more proud of you. ❤️🐾

Meet Murphy!
Foster needed for this beautiful boy - the boarding place said he is literally the best dog they have ever hosted. He is sweet and loving. Loves walks.

We rescued him from Mexico - he was found as an emaciated puppy on the streets and grew up in a pen on a ranch with a local MX rescuer...we now have him in boarding in Dripping. Sweet Gabby is in the hospital fighting parvo. 💔

Over the last day, we’ve already spent close to $3,500 trying to save this little girl. Between hospitalization, IV fluids, medications, and around-the-clock care, the bills add up fast — but we’re not ready to give up on her.

She’s just a puppy and deserves the chance to make it through this.

Mama Mabel spent Mother’s Day welcoming the sweetest little surprises into the world. 🌸

These tiny beagle mix babies are safe, warm, loved, and already stealing hearts. We’re calling them “Mabel’s Mother’s Day Litter” and we cannot wait to watch their personalities bloom over the next few weeks.

Volunteer Spotlight ✨Shout out to two very special women!!

Best friends Kerri & Andrea work together like a well-oiled rescue machine — and together, they have helped save dozens and dozens (and dozens) of dogs!

From driving all over Texas for pickups, to managing medical care, to being incredibly thoughtful and particular about where their foster dogs are placed, these two pour their hearts into every dog they help.

Last year, Kerri even drove one of their foster dogs all the way to the Midwest to personally deliver her to her forever family.

Their teamwork, dedication, and compassion have changed so many lives, and we are beyond grateful for these amazing women. 🐾
