A bag of dog food doesn’t last long when dozens of dogs are counting on you. ❤️

Our rescue partner Isabel takes in some of the sickest dogs from the streets of Mexico—dogs who desperately need care, a safe place to rest, and steady meals to help them heal.

We ask for food often because this need never ends. The dogs we helped feed last month still need to eat today, and every new rescue means another hungry mouth.

Right now, Isabel is running low on food. She carries so much of the daily work of caring for these dogs. Together, we can help keep their bowls full.

🌈🌈Gunnar had a quiet way of making everyone who met him fall in love.
Today, we lost him to distemper. We are heartbroken. 💔
Gunnar followed his people like a shadow, content to be close, and came alive playing with his dog friends.

So many people helped fight for him. His foster parents gave him extraordinary love and drove him 16 hours to Alabama for treatment. Anu tenderly cared for him in his final days. To them, and everyone who helped give Gunnar a chance: thank you.🩵

Behind every rescue story is a dog with his own little ways of making life sweeter. These were Gunnar’s. We will miss them—and him—so very much. Fly free sweet boy - no more pain. You are loved. Until we meet again....🩵

🩵Please send prayers and hope - and support for our good friend Anu Yahampath Fields who has saved nearly 200 dogs from distemper. Tonight is a big night...she and her wonderful husband will begin the procedure to make serum which means they will be up most of the night (they recruited 3 donor dogs)...and then travelling far away to a vet that will help make it tomorrow. Then our sick dogs will get the serum in the next day or two, which hopefully helps them turn a corner. Two of the three are VERY very ill. All of this costs money - please help us by donating - every dollar counts.

Fundraiser to save Noli and Gunnar - both stricken with distemper.🆘🆘🆘
We have treated them for weeks and are now moving them to a distemper expert in Alabama. Our wonderful volunteers are making the 24 hour round trip drive to get them there. We need to purchase more meds - pay for gas - treatment - hotel - please help us do this important work. It all is expensive but worth every penny for these precious lives.

❤️ Noli and Gunnar are fighting for their lives. Please help us give them a chance. Donations needed!⭐⭐⭐We have a plan - we need funds!

Both are very sick with distemper—a deadly virus we have fought many times before. We’ve helped many dogs survive, but every fight requires an enormous effort: intensive care, medications, long days and sleepless nights.

Tomorrow, we’re sending Noli and Gunnar to our rescue partner in Alabama to give them the best chance at surviving. Volunteers are stepping up to drive more than 25 hours round trip for these two precious dogs.

We urgently need help covering their medications, transportation and a hotel stay for our volunteer drivers. Their care is already underway, and these costs are more than we can carry alone.

There are no guarantees with distemper, but there is hope—and we are doing everything we can to give Noli and Gunnar a future.

We’ve spent over $8,000 on emergency medical care recently, and we need your help. 💙

Two dogs needed stitches and surgery for terrible wounds from machete attacks. Several others are battling distemper and need intensive daily care and meds resourced from far flung places. A tiny puppy was hospitalized after aspirating—her hospital bill alone was $3,000.

Behind every bill is one of the dogs you see here. Each deserves relief from pain, a chance to heal, and a safe, loving home.

At Addicus Legacy, we’re doing everything we can to get them there. But the bills have piled up, and their care is ongoing.
