Y'ALL! Every year, AISD sponsors a bus and families to march in the Austin Pride Parade. NOW because of Abbott and Texas and *waves hands wildly* all this.. THEY CAN'T ANYMORE.

So. The Austin Council of PTAs is looking for sponsors from individuals and businesses to ensure our AISD kids can REPRESENT at the parade!

Birdhouse is sponsoring and we would love to be joined by as many of you as we can muster! Protect q***r kids ALWAYS! The donation 🔗 is a bit cumbersome so check stories for it or screenshot the image, and press/hold QR code to donate or register to march with us!

Trans Texas will be at events across the state this Pride - catch us in a city near you!

While Pride is often our busiest season, we continue to table at events year-round. Don’t see an event near you? Find us later this year at community events and concerts.

It's PRIDE week in AISD this week.

❤️ Ask your student if their school is participating. If yes, email the principal to say THANK YOU. If no, email the principal to ask why not.
🧡 Volunteer to decorate a PRIDE themed bulletin board
💛 Donate Pride and Ally stickers / flags to the school
💚 Show up at drop off / pick up in your favorite Pride shirt
💙 Donate to your school's GSA
💜 Follow Transgender Education Network of Texas & Equality Texas to learn about all the bills that are impacting LGBTQIA+ students and families this legislative session.

AISD Pride Week Update: Please review the FAQ regarding some changes to this year's AISD Pride.

I know there will be a lot of feelings around this, but please know that decisions were made after thoughtful conversations with parents representing the most vulnerable students.

There are a lot of us who have the privilege to want to take a stand / put up a fight / get loud against the hate, but I will always follow the lead of parents who fight the fight every day by simply having their kids go to school in Texas.
