Good morning sandtray friends,

If you're interested in serving on the board of the Texas SandTray Association for the 2023 calendar year, our organization would love to have you! We're specifically seeking individuals to run for President-Elect, Secretary, and Public Relations.

Here's some general info:

-Elections take place in December, and the new board begins January
-Board meetings take place monthly via Zoom on Friday mornings
-One in-person conference is held each year in September, with potential for virtual trainings

Information about each position:

President-Elect: This is technically a 3-year commitment, as the President-Elect automatically becomes president the following year, and then past-president the year after that. The President-Elect's main role is to observe and learn from the president so they're prepared to take on that role the following year; of course, they do volunteer for other tasks as needed, as do the other positions.

Secretary: This is a 1-year commitment. The Secretary emails the board the week of board meetings to gather items for agenda, keeps minutes at meetings, and sends them to the TSTA Executive Assistant for posting online. Volunteers for other tasks as needed.

Public Relations: This is a 1-year commitment. Public Relations runs the TSTA Facebook and Instagram accounts - especially announcing events, but also making other regular posts to grow our engagement on social media. Volunteers for other tasks as needed.

Please email [email protected] with any questions, or to self-nominate (or nominate another individual) for one of the positions. You DO need to be an active member in order to run for a position; however, if you're not currently a member, we can get you signed up! Deadline for nominations is November 16.
