2026 State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) Ends October 31!

The annual campaign kicked off September 1, with 2026 marking the 32nd year of generous giving by state, higher education, and retired employees.

Since 1994, state employees have contributed more than $217 million through the SECC to support nonprofits serving Texas!

This recognition celebrates leaders with a strong record of innovation, outstanding performance, and leadership in the community, qualities Ingrid brings to our organization every day.

Under Ingrid’s leadership, we developed our 2030 Blueprint, a five-year plan that identifies three measurable North Star goals for our community: increased Kindergarten readiness, more families financially stable, and more people connected with resources to thrive. This is just one way she leads our organization toward a stronger Central Texas.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. On this solemn day, United Ways of Texas joins communities across the nation in remembering the lives lost, honoring the heroes who responded, and standing with the families and communities forever changed by that day.

As we remember, we can also reflect on the power of coming together to care for one another. ❤️

United Way Worldwide is an official partner of 9/11 Day, a nonprofit organization encouraging people across the country to commemorate September 11 through acts of kindness, service, and generosity.

From volunteering in your community to helping a neighbor, every act of service is an opportunity to honor the spirit of unity and compassion that emerged in the days following September 11.

This Labor Day, we honor the hardworking Texans who keep our communities and economy moving—including those who work every day but still struggle to afford the basics.

In Texas, 40% of households live below the ALICE Threshold. ALICE—Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed—represents individuals and families who earn above the Federal Poverty Level but not enough to cover essentials such as housing, child care, food, transportation, health care and technology.

They are the child care providers, retail associates, health care workers, restaurant employees and many others we depend on each day.
As we celebrate the contributions of workers this Labor Day, let us also recommit to building communities where every job provides a pathway to financial stability and every hardworking family has the opportunity to thrive.

September is Hunger Action Month, a time to raise awareness and take action to help end hunger in our communities. 🍎

At United Way Texas, we are proud to partner with Feeding Texas to advocate for strong policies and programs, including SNAP, that help Texas families access the food and resources they need to thrive.

We are also proud to co-chair the Texas Food Policy Roundtable, bringing together leaders across sectors to collaborate, strategize, and advocate for sustainable solutions to food insecurity across Texas.

As Hunger Action Month approaches, we invite you to join us in raising awareness and supporting efforts that create lasting solutions to hunger.
