Alexander Zanders founded agritech platform UfarmX to unlock Africa's $100 billion agricultural financing gap by building data-driven credit infrastructure for smallholder farmers.
Operating across Nigeria, Senegal, and Liberia, UfarmX has credit-scored over 17,000 farmers and facilitated $6.8 million in commerce while maintaining a remarkably low 1.17% net default rate.
The company finances inputs on credit through local agro-dealers and is launching a credit-scoring API to allow banks, microfinance institutions, and development funds to assess farm loans at scale.
Boasting 82% gross margins and backing as the 2025 Black Ambition Grand Prize winner, UfarmX is turning African smallholder agriculture from a development topic into a high-margin global investment thesis.
