We are volunteer-powered. Thrifted fashion, furniture & home finds. Profits go to local charities!

For CONSIGNORS:
Consignment is a 50/50 split. We offer 3 days a week walk-in consignment: Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday 10-12:30! All clients may consign once a week. You will be helped by our friendly volunteers. We need double the volunteers in consignment and still have to limit your batches to 15 items. Join us, it's a fun and easy activity for all ages! Call 512-459-1288 or

A quick heads-up for our consignors 📣

Walk-in consignment will be closed September 8–14 for a scheduled break.

We’ll be back and accepting walk-in consignments starting Tuesday, September 15.

Please plan your drop-offs accordingly, and thank you for your understanding. ❤️

These two large canvases just dropped into the store yesterday, and we could not stop staring at them. Everyone here — including our volunteers — absolutely loves them.

They’re by Ukrainian artist Christina Kunanets, who is known for her incredibly realistic, textured paintings of food. She works with oil paint, building up layers and texture to give her work that almost three-dimensional look.

These two paintings are so much better in person. The pictures really aren’t capturing the depth and texture of the paint — especially all those little details on the lobster, crab, toast and lemons. You really have to stand in front of them to appreciate them.

They just arrived at Next-to-New, so we thought we’d share them with you right away.

Our latest find is something rather special—an Emilia Castillo Monstera Leaf bowl, made in Taxco, Mexico, with beautiful silver detailing throughout.

ABOUT THE BOWL

Made in Taxco, Mexico, the bowl combines a beautiful green finish with an oversized Monstera leaf rendered in .925 plata pura (sterling silver). Small silver dragonflies are scattered across the surface, adding another layer of detail that you may not notice until you get close.

The organic shape, the scale of the silver leaf and all those small hand-finished details make it as much a decorative piece as a functional bowl.

ABOUT EMILIA CASTILLO

Emilia Castillo is a Mexican designer associated with the celebrated silverworking tradition of Taxco, Mexico. Her work is particularly recognizable for combining silver with natural forms and materials—leaves, insects, animals and other elements inspired by nature.

It is that combination that makes this bowl so distinctive: a familiar Monstera leaf transformed into something sculptural and beautifully detailed.

One of the things we really value at Next 2 New is the time our volunteers give to the shop.

So it was nice to spend an afternoon together doing something a little different.

We recently had a mosaic workshop for our volunteers — a chance to sit around a table, learn something new, make something with our hands and, most importantly, just enjoy being together.

Our volunteers are such a big part of Next 2 New, and afternoons like this are a reminder that the friendships and relationships formed here are just as important as the work we do.

Check this out….

First the woman. Then the animal in her arms. Then the monkey peeking over one shoulder. And what exactly is happening with that tiny orange figure on the other?

Turn her around and there’s another figure climbing up the back.

There is so much going on in this sculpture.

The back is signed Guillermina Aguilar A. We haven’t established the full story behind the piece yet, which makes it even more intriguing.

For now, we want to know what you see.
