🚨 Landfill Dump Vouchers – Still Available Today (7/23/25) 🚨

Good news, Sandy Creek residents—the county will be back at Round Mountain Baptist Church tomorrow handing out dump vouchers for debris removal. As of today, about 77 vouchers remain.

⏰ Timing is unclear—the rep couldn’t confirm exact hours, but plan to go early in the morning and expect distribution to continue until they run out.

✅ What the voucher covers:
• Dump fee only – it does NOT include a truck or loading help.

📍 Where to get it:
Round Mountain Baptist Church
14500 Round Mountain Rd, Leander, TX 78641

🧐Look for the tan cooling tents (marked in the photo).
Bring ID showing you live on the affected property.
You must pick up your voucher in person.

🤝 Need help hauling to the landfill?
Grindstone Ministries, located right next to the voucher tent, can load and haul up to 8 loads per day for free if you provide them the voucher.

📢 Please share with anyone in Sandy Creek who needs help clearing their property. Let’s get the word out before they run out of vouchers!

Lions with boots on the ground.
We served this day by remembering what we have noticed during previous trips through the creek banks. While helping a family the day prior, discussions lead to items I had seen in a strange high bank wall of the creek. Right away the family spirit spiked with joy as they realized some of their property may be recoverable. Maybe not EVERYTHING was lost. Today we walked the bank and the family had joy type emotions as we found their property. They thanked us informing us that this was helpful closure in some ways. We all ended the evening after dark but in a sparkle of happiness. I expect to help them soon find their dodge one ton pick up. As he brought it up I was able to know where in the creek it has been. I even have photos of it on my phone from helping another family search for their 1/2 ton pick up of the same color.
There is still one human from Sandy Creek that has not been found but there is not any back up in this community. Tenacity is in full bloom in classical Americana style.
If other Lions Clubs will send me shirts from your chapter (size lg or XL and size small, Page and I will get them dirty out in the creek.

Boy Howdy,
Today’s Sandy Creek volunteer adventure!
We put together a pen for some cool critters, we made a beautiful difference in curb appeal; we served.
At the moment Page is laughing about dirt in the bend of her elbows.
We served our community in “Classical Americana” style.
….. and it was fun‼️

We are beyond excited to share that Chelsea Elliott has been awarded the inaugural Helen Keller Kights of the Blind service award by the Texas Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center Foundation (TLERCF)! This incredible honor recognizes Chelsea’s dedication to improving access to vision care in our community.

We’re so grateful to TLERCF and the Lions Clubs of Texas for their longstanding support of half Helen and for continuing Helen Keller’s legacy of service. Together, we continue to create a brighter, clearer future for our community 💙🧡
