The South Carolina Senate just killed congressional redistricting for this election cycle.

The ayes voted to kill congressional redistricting for this election cycle and protecting the racially gerrymandered 6th Congressional District, while the nays voted to keep redistricting moving forward before the elections.

Fourteen so-called “Republicans” joined Senate Democrats to run out the clock and protect the racially gerrymandered 6th Congressional District by voting to “continue” the bill before the primaries.

So please call these so-called “Republican” Senators immediately, express your disappointment over their vote to kill congressional redistricting, and urge them to return next session ready to redraw the racially gerrymandered 6th Congressional District.

Congressional redistricting will be debated in the South Carolina Senate TOMORROW, but establishment insiders are already trying to run out the clock before early voting begins on May 26th.

If they succeed, the current racially gerrymandered 6th District could stay in place for another election cycle.
