Everyday hero society

Everyday hero society everydayherosociety is a volunteer service org helping the local community, while fostering a social network of like-minded, caring individuals Right?

If you enjoy doing something, it’s reasonable to believe that you’ll want to do it more. That’s just common sense, isn’t it? What if we could make volunteering more enjoyable? Beyond the intrinsic value of volunteering that already makes you feel good, what if it was fun? The everydayherosociety is a volunteer service organization whose efforts benefit members of the local community, while simulta

neously fostering a social network of like-minded, caring individuals who seek to improve the community in which they live. We are a volunteer organization that embraces the social interaction and group bonding that comes from working side by side, knowing that the social nature of the everydayherosociety will be the glue that keeps us together and the fuel that keeps us going. If creating a social benefit to volunteering helps encourage us all to give of ourselves more regularly then our efforts will have been worthwhile. We also believe that giving can have a more profound impact when it involves our hands, our muscles, our attention, and our care. That is why the majority of our activities provide on-site volunteer labor to worthy organizations, rather than focusing on fund raising efforts alone. Life gets busy. We get that. Rare is the person who has the time and ability to give fully to worthy organizations and those in need. We’re happy with whatever support you can give by attending our activities, sponsoring our events, or just cheering us on. Currently, we are scheduling one activity per quarter with the hope of organizing events more frequently in the future. HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:
We try to keep things as simple as possible. There are no fees and no obligations. You can attend as many activities as you like throughout the year. Of course, we believe that the more you participate, the more you will enjoy it! As each activity is announced, there will be an opportunity to sign up, which is your indication that you will attend. Activities will be scheduled once per quarter initially, with plans to increase the number of activities available per year. The everydayherosociety will make all arrangements with the recipient charities and non-profit organizations. We will provide any forms required by the organizations that we assist. All you will need to do is sign up, fill out the forms, and attend. We need everyone’s support. For those living in the Austin metropolitan area, you can show your support by liking this page and sharing it with others in your circle who may be interested. You can attend activities as often as you’d like. There are also sponsorship opportunities available for those who are interested. For those not living nearby, we would still love to see your support by liking this page. We promise to keep our posts down to a minimum, and you can watch us as we grow and give more back to the community. Plus, it makes us feel good when people show us they believe in what we’re doing! Our first activity will be announced very soon…

A big huge THANK YOU to all of the heroes who came out to support the Feed My Starving Children event. We packed hundreds of meals, contributing our part to the thousands of meals that were created over two days and two locations. We had so many volunteers sign up this time, that we overfilled the Oak Hill location, so a second team of heroes headed to the Bee Cave event.

The event was organized and ran very smoothly. The Feed My Starving Children group is well-managed and I encourage you to volunteer for one of their packing events in the future.

It’s an Everyday Hero kind of day! We’ve got 20 volunteers hitting two different locations today to help pack meals for hungry children. Looking forward to seeing our Heroes in action again!

Everyday Hero Society is ready for our next activity! This quarter we are volunteering with the Austin Animal Center. Recent heavy storms have brought a dramatic increase in animals at the shelter and we're going to spend this Saturday giving them some much needed love and attention. Over 350 dogs and nearly as many cats are currently at the center so we'll be busy! Thanks to everyone who has signed up - see you Saturday!

Thanks to our invasive-species-eradicating volunteers for a day of very hard work! That one was a tough one. No way to count, but we must have cleared hundreds of ligustrum trees that had taken over the area. We were part of a citywide effort that included 3000 people giving over 10,000 hours of volunteer labor to help keep our parks beautiful. Super loud shout out to our two youngest heroes on Saturday for working so hard!

Hey heroes! We're on the Bookspring page today! Thanks so much for volunteering with us!

A couple of weeks ago, BookSpring was fortunate to be able to host this amazing group, the Everyday hero society! This awesome group of people gets together once a quarter to do a volunteer project for a local organization. For us, they did multiple projects--building a fabulous winter castle (with working drawbridge!!!), weeding our garden area, and sorting and labeling books! Thank you so much, Everyday Heroes!!

We're getting ready for our next activity this Saturday with Bookspring! Thanks to those who have signed up!

Our next activity will be Saturday, November 15 from 1-4pm with Bookspring, a non-profit that promotes reading through various programs including one that provides books to pediatricians to give away to their young patients. Please come out and help us support this incredible charity.
