The preliminary independent autopsy results for 18 year old Nolan Wells rule his cause and manner of death as undetermined pending further investigation. Family attorney Ben Crump announced these initial findings this morning, during a press conference at the NAACP National Convention in Chicago.

Pathologist Dr. Roger Mitchell concluded that both the exact cause and the specific manner of death cannot yet be verified. Wells was discovered face down and fully clothed in the water, showing distinct red discoloration on the back of his head.

Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick funded this private examination. The family flew Wells' body 800 miles to Washington, D.C., to ensure an analysis independent of Mississippi law enforcement.

We Made History!

The Historic Colored Addition Beautification Plan Has Passed!

Pflugerville, we did it! Tonight, our community showed up, stood together, and made our voices unmistakably heard. Because of your votes, your footsteps in the march to City Hall, and your powerful presence at the City Council meeting, the Historic Colored Addition Beautification Plan has officially passed!

This is a monumental victory and a historic milestone for Pflugerville. By approving this plan, our city has chosen to honor our past, cement our legacy, and ensure that Black history in Pflugerville is beautifully preserved and visibly celebrated for generations to come.

A Victory Rooted in Community

This moment is bigger than landscaping—it is about dignity, memory, and respect for the ancestors who built the foundation of our community.

To everyone who cast a "YES" vote today: Thank you for using your power at the ballot box.
To everyone who marched from Pecan Street to City Hall: Thank you for your energy, your visibility, and your peaceful dedication.
To everyone who packed the City Council chambers: Your presence demanded that our history be seen and valued.

"Our history deserves to be seen and preserved." Tonight, we proved exactly what happens when a community unites with one voice.

What’s Next?

The vote is won, but the work to bring this beautiful vision to life is just beginning. We will continue to work hand-in-hand with city officials and community members to ensure the beautification plan is executed with the care and honor it deserves.

Stay connected, stay involved, and let's celebrate this incredible win together!
