BLiPSWiTCH

BLiPSWiTCH BLiPSWiTCH is a project-based dance company founded to unite diverse artists in collaboration, with a We are A Collaborative Movement.

BLiPSWiTCH is interested in the collaboration of any and all things art. We were founded as an inclusive platform for artists to unite, create work and cultivate a multifaceted arts community, unbound by individual mediums. We will push the boundaries of movement, dance and art to facilitate an environment of innovation, enrichment and outreach. Bringing together creators with a desire for collabo

ration allows us to reach a more diverse audience, promote education from all sides, and challenge both the artist and viewer to think in a new way. Beginning in Austin’s own community, through a mindful approach devoid of judgement, we aim to create a home for limitless, authentic expression worth spreading across physical and emotional barriers.

THURSDAY, APRIL 9
Guest Artist Class
with ANNIKA SHEAFF
hosted by BLiPSWiTCH

We are happy to be cooperating with Austin Dance Festival again to host one of their guest classes and are excited to welcome to our Thursday community! Class will remain at the standard $10 rate, but registration will go through Austin Dance Festival, linked in bio!

ABOUT ANNIKAS CLASS: Wish you were here— Contemporary and Monica Bill Barnes Rep

This movement class will be grounded in playfulness, humor, musicality, and exploration. Annika Sheaff’s love for building community through movement is centered in her teaching practice. Class begins with a thorough warm-up getting everyone sweaty, smiling, and connected. We then head into igniting our imaginations through traveling phrase work, using different visuals and prompts to move generously through space. The last portion of class Sheaff will teach part of the solo choreographed by Monica Bill Barnes that she is performing in Austin Dance Festival. The solo is called Wish you were here; it is highly physical, musical, and playful!

(This class is best suited for advanced/professional dancers ages 18 and up.)

Thursday, April 9
10:00-11:30am

Register through ADF — linked in bio

Annika Sheaff performed with Pilobolus Dance Theater, Aszure Barton and Artists, and GroundWorks Dance Theater. She currently is an Assistant Professor of dance at Texas Christian University where her research focuses on embodied performance. Learn more about Annika at annikasheaff.com

January 30, 2026
Doors @ 6:00pm — Music @ 7:00pm
Cherrywood Center | 1605 E 38 1/2 St. Austin, TX
Free (buy a vinyl!)

About the record:
‘Spilling Open’ captures the liminal, hypnotic, and synesthetic memories from cellist Joey Reyes’ childhood as he dozed off at his mother’s orchestra rehearsals, colors and music swirling in his head.

“Mom pushed me to pick up the cello when I was five, and urged me to stick with it. I recorded Spilling Open in the concert hall where she learned to play violin as a little girl. At it’s core, this album is the closing of a circuit - an artistic cycle between a mother and son.” - Joey Reyes

The album’s first half is solo cello and electronics, weaving a tapestry from the private vulnerability and weight that instruments carry across generations. To help carry that weight, Reyes enlists friends and collaborators for the album’s second half - Central Texas treasures Thor Harris (Thor & Friends, Swans), Lindsey Verrill & Jeff Johnston (Little Mazarn), Bill Baird, and Rodolfo Smith-Villarreal III & Neil Lord (Future Museums).

November was go-go-go for us, and it’s taken a while to slow down and put the words together, but we have so much to share our gratitude for last month! Starting with the most recent… the magical “Love you, moon”… 🌕

Lots of love to ALL of you who came to support and attend the show (many more than once!)! Whether it was a sold out crowd (more often than not, wahoo!), or a more intimate group, your generous energy was so felt and appreciated. 🌖

To and , the first recipients of our Site-Specific Sponsorship— thank you and bravo!!! Thank you for your clear communication, THOUGHTFUL creation, and trusting in being our de facto guinea pigs for this new artist support program. We LOVED watching your choreographic work expand to an evening length and it was a joy to help bring it out of the black box and into the world. Big moon love. 🌗

Thank you to Jonathan Beall () for always being the first to say, “hey, make something at my place!” Venue sponsors are invaluable, and one of the biggest ways we are able to make this work, so thanks for always being so generous and willing. And to neighbors, Mrs. Walker and family, for sharing your yard with us for parking. 🌘

Ever grateful for and for capturing the beauty in film and photography. XOs. 🌑

Big appreciation to our other show-supporting donors, (shout out to Colin!), and Caroline Roberts, and our front-of-house volunteer crew (IG won’t let us tag all 21 of you, but we love you)! 🌒

And lastly, we can’t take credit for the incredible cast of artists brought together for this show (that’s all A&J), but boy did we enthusiastically endorse their selections! A huge group hug to powerhouse dancers .t.h.o.t and (who did costumes too)— wow, y’all are stars— plus lighting pros and (with gear/load-in support from ). 🌓

These are just the thank yous from the BLiP side of things (there were so many others that helped A&J directly)— we are so grateful for this community and all of you! 🌔

To the moon and back,
T&A

🎶💃🏻 We’re excited to welcome .c.jones__ back to Austin this Saturday with her latest music project, Allumé! And our very own will be teaching a lil’ two-stepping before, so we’ll all be ready to shuffle and sway on the dance floor together!

“.is.a.band unites Nashville’s and with Lafayette, Louisiana’s K.C. Jones (Feufollet, The Daiquiri Queens) and .b.oudreaux (The Revelers). This Cajun-country-cozy supergroup weaves together rich harmonies, pedal steel, fiddle, bass, and stripped-down drums for a sound that’s both rootsy and dynamic.
This new collaboration is born from a deep admiration for the culturally rich Acadiana region of South Louisiana, particularly the vibrant city of Lafayette. Known as the “Little Easier,” Lafayette is a magnetic hub where community, tradition, and music thrive. Cajun and Creole melodies fill the air, dancers move across hardwood floors, and generations carry on time-honored traditions. Warm, welcoming, and steeped in culture, it’s a place that has a way of changing those who experience it.”

/ ’s Austin-born butt went from competition kid to drill team baby to experimental academic…currently resonating as a physical theatre enthusiast, improvisor, and momentumous floorwork practitioner. Most often a choreographer, performer, and costumer, KO loves making artistic dive-ins in an evolving bunch o’ realms. She’s ½ of Torko Rover, a multi-medium production duo that is crafting gay performance art in non-traditional spaces. Routinely in scrappy, maximalist, humor-struck collaborations, KO has co-created works with Frank Wo/Men Collective, Rude Mechanicals, Salvage Vanguard Theatre, JKJK, Performa/Dance, Magdalena Jarkowiec, Heloise Gold, Ground Floor Theatre, UTNT, Thee Gay Agenda, Erica Saucedo, Body Shift, Mama Duke, + more. Her costume concoctions and stylings have landed in work by UT, Frank Wo/Men Collective, Performa/Dance, Erica Saucedo, Heloise Gold, ACC, and several other dance/theatre shenanigans. In academic regards, KO received a B.F.A. in Dance in 2015, studying at UT Austin and short-term Le Centre National de Danse Contemporaine in Angers, France. She has been an adjudicator, choreographer, and dance instructor for studios and teams throughout Texas; the kiddos she teaches bring her so so much joy (and continue to allow her to access her kid self :P). In a nutshell, she likes durational stuff, absurdist stuff, devised stuff, funny stuff, and stuff that gets soakingly athletic. She also loves her q***r family with 3 fur floof children.
