"I can't leave honey; you could die while I'm away"...
…...
Stunned, I turned to face the man who just spoke, my own husband, Rob.
As I stared at him, I realized he was distraught and scared by what the doctor had said.
Sighing deeply, I motioned for him to help me prop my pillows so that I could sit up.
Laying in bed all week had made me weak and unable to do things myself, but I definitely wasn't going to die.
"Babe, come here", as he sat beside my bed, worry and fear evident in his eyes, I wondered how I had ended up with a man who could move heaven and earth if I asked him to.
I was blessed, and I was grateful.
Taking his hands in mine, I said;
"Rob, I know the doctor said this pregnancy...our pregnancy is high-risk because of my history of miscarriages and also because I've type 2 diabetes, but Babe, hey, look at me, I'm fine. I'm very much alive, still kicking, and I'm sure that going to buy me milk from the local mart that's just a 2 minutes walk from the house won't kill me."
As I said this, I stared into his eyes, searching, hoping he understood the words that were coming out of my mouth.
With a naughty smile, I added:
"and I could go get it myself"
"No, no, I'll go," kissing my head, he quickly left the room.
"I love you babe," I shouted, but I doubt he heard me.
Alone in the empty room, I did the only thing I could; I prayed.
.....
Having a high-risk pregnancy can be a scary experience for expecting parents; for expecting mothers who do not have family members to support them in this period, the fear and worry of losing their life or their babies can be very overwhelming.
Thankfully, the good news is that in today's world, professional care in areas such as these has evolved so much that high-risk pregnancies do not automatically equal a death sentence for the mother and child.
Yes, with appropriate professional care and financial support, an expecting mother who has a high-risk pregnancy can deliver her baby with no harm coming to either mother or child.
But as we said earlier, this is possible WITH APPROPRIATE PROFESSIONAL CARE AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT", which is what we at JusterCare aim to do.
We intend to:
1. Give as much financial support as we can to these women
2. Show them care and support in these trying times
3. Remind them that they don't have to do it alone
4.Be with them through it all.
BUT we can't do it alone; we urge you to join hands with us in our #
