Day one of the Texas Travel Summit is in the books, and Fort Worth gave us a pretty great way to kick things off. 🌇

We started the Summit at the Hotel Drover for an opening party hosted by Visit Fort Worth, where Texas travel folks traded introductions, caught up with old friends, made new ones, and settled into Summit mode over BBQ and live music. There’s something about getting everyone together in the Stockyards that makes the start of this week feel a little more special.

We also welcomed the next generation of Texas tourism at our college student orientation, sponsored by Landry’s. Getting students in the room with people already building careers in travel is one of our favorite parts of the Summit, and hopefully the beginning of some new connections and opportunities.

Now we’re back at it for day two, with a full lineup of speakers, big ideas and plenty of conversations ahead. Let’s get into it. 🤠

9/25 = 9 to 5. You know we had to celebrate. 🎶

Today, communities nationwide are honoring Dolly Parton, from proclamations to parades to a whole lot of pink lights. Here in Texas, Hays and Montgomery Counties have officially declared it Dolly Parton Day.

Dolly took the stage at the San Antonio and Houston rodeos, premiered a movie in Austin, sang with Willie and Kenny for NASA, made two more stops in Austin over the years, hosted the ACM Awards in Frisco, and sent Texas off with one more unforgettable show in 2023, suiting up as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader for the halftime crowd.

In a state with a deep-rooted love for country music, live music, dance halls, and a good story, it's no surprise Dolly's songs became part of the soundtrack.

Happy 9 to 5 Day from Texas Travel Alliance. Now somebody turn up Dolly. 🤠
