To never forget and to always remember!

Our own Kenny Bierschenk provided the playing of TAPS at the American Cemetery in Normandy France in 2019, and performed on a trumpet on loan from the son of a soldier who played this same trumpet for the fallen on D-Day.

The beginning of a new tradition! This morning, LHAB delivered custom LHB stoles to each of the 80+ graduating members of The University of Texas Longhorn Band. We hope these help our grads stand out at Commencement and showcase their contributions to the Showband of the Southwest during their time on the 40 Acres.

We look forward to continue celebrating LHB's graduating seniors for years to come. Congratulations to all, welcome to the LHAB family, and enjoy Commencement next weekend!! 🤘🧡🎓

We are remembering our former The University of Texas Longhorn Band Director, Robert Carnochan. Today would have been his 63rd birthday. Happy Heavenly 🎂🎶🤘🏼

Dr. Carnochan, DMA, University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music, directed LHB for 13 years before accepting the Director of Bands at Miami University Frost School of Music.

Marvelous news out of Miami recently of commissioned works by UT’s own, Boss and Donald Grantham.

The Frost School commissioned two works to commemorate the loss of beloved music educator and leader Robert Carnochan.

From the recent UT College of Fine Arts 2026 Scholarship Luncheon.

College of Fine Arts alumnus and guest speaker, LHAB past president, Eddie Lopez, emphasized the long-term impact of investing in our students, sharing his personal UT journey that inspired him to help future generations.

Student speaker Ally Dolley touched our hearts with her story of connection and community through theatre at UT, crediting her scholarship with helping to make her educational dreams a reality.

The jazz performance by the Butler School of Music students, featuring a surprise appearance by UT Director of Jazz Studies Diego Rivera, showcased the exceptional talent being cultivated at the College of Fine Arts.

Dean Rivera-Servera then brought the luncheon to a close with a reflection on the unique power of the arts to serve as a convener and connector in the world, emphasizing the crucial role that each of us plays in this essential equation.

THANK YOU to everyone who contributes to the LHAB Charitable Fund and the Back The Band campaign. We are making a difference for students in The University of Texas Longhorn Band. Hook em’ Horns!
