This October, we’re shining a spotlight on two wonderful supporters who are helping put books into the hands of Mower County’s youngest readers: Scott & Kristin Aakre and The Muffler Center, our October Book Label Co-Sponsors!

Thanks to their generosity, children throughout Mower County will receive books through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, bringing new stories, exciting adventures, and opportunities to learn right to their mailboxes. 📬📖

When children have books of their own, reading can become part of everyday life — from bedtime snuggles and silly storytime voices to those magical moments when a child discovers a favorite character for the very first time.

Scott & Kristin and The Muffler Center are helping make those moments possible for local families, and we couldn't be more thankful for their investment in our community's little readers. 🌱

Two generous sponsors, countless stories, and a whole lot of growing minds! Thank you for helping The Read Seed plant the seeds of a lifelong love of reading. 💚

This September, we’re celebrating the United Way of Mower County as our Book Label Sponsor and thanking them for helping make these moments possible for local families.

Through their generous support, nearly 1,000 children across Mower County will receive a brand-new book through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library — delivered right to their homes, with no cost to their families.

The impact of a book can reach far beyond its pages. It can inspire a child to dream bigger, give a parent a special moment to connect with their little one, and help build a home where reading becomes part of everyday life.

We are so grateful to United Way of Mower County for standing behind our community’s youngest readers and helping us put more books into more little hands. Together, we’re growing readers and building brighter futures — one book at a time. 🌱📚

📚💚 30,000 BOOKS.

Take a moment and let that number sink in.

30,000 books delivered to children right here in Mower County.
30,000 new stories.
30,000 opportunities to wonder, imagine, learn, and dream.
30,000 moments when a child opened the mailbox and found a book with their name on it. ❤️

And today, we’re celebrating something that feels even more special:

September 1 marked exactly THREE YEARS since The Read Seed began delivering Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library books to local children.

Three years ago, we mailed our very first books.

Since then, more than 1,600 Mower County children have registered to receive a FREE, age-appropriate book every month — delivered right to their homes.

And as of September 1, we have officially delivered more than 30,000 books. 🎉📖

But the number that matters most isn’t 30,000.

It’s the child who discovers their favorite story.
It’s the parent who gets to share one more bedtime book.
It’s the child who starts their very own home library.
It’s the little reader who learns that books belong to them, too.

That is why we do this.

And we want every eligible child in Mower County to have the same opportunity.

🌟 If you have a child under 5 who isn’t registered yet, please sign them up!

And thousands of little moments that might just change a life.

Here’s to the next chapter. 📚💚✨
