Today The Singer and the Song welcomes Ali Holder to the KOOP studios. Ali is a great Austin singer songwriter whose latest project, Uncomfortable Truths, explores personal matters, global matters, and how they intersect. She is using her music to address life in our increasingly complex modern world. Ali and her music are the real deal, and I'm delighted to have her on the show as she performs live for us the whole hour on KOOP 91.7 FM and koop.org, 3-4pm, Saturday, September 5th. By the way, you can still listen to the last two episodes (Wilson Marks, Hippies and Cowboys) at The Singer and the Song - KOOP Radio 91.7 FM

Tune in on Saturday, September 5, for a special two-hour Adventures in (Jazz) Sound! Every four weeks, Dennis Campa combines The Jazz Show and Adventures in Sound for a celebration of Jazz and Pop music from the 1920s and 1930s. This week, we'll salute the birth anniversaries of five songwriters: Howard Dietz, Arthur Freed, Lou Handman, Billy Rose, and Al Sherman. It’s happening from 12 to 2 p.m. on 91.7 FM (and koop.org). Thanks for listening!

KOOP's Fall Membership Drive starts in one week!

You can build a playlist that plays exactly what you already like, forever, and never once be surprised.
That's not community radio. That's a mirror.
KOOP is a signal, not a mirror.
Somewhere in Austin right now, somebody else is hearing the exact same song you are, at the exact same moment, because a real person chose it on purpose.
For three minutes, you're not being personalized to. You're being connected to. To that DJ. To everybody else with the dial on right now, whether you know them or not.
That's rare. Most things built today are built to isolate you comfortably. KOOP Radio connects you.
You don't have to be a superfan for that to be worth something. You just have to believe it's worth keeping around.
Be a part of the signal. Support KOOP Radio today.
Design by KOOP's own Grace Reyer, co-host of The Clear Spot.

Today The Singer and the Song welcomes Wilson Marks to the KOOP studios. Wilson is a fine and fascinating Austin musician, a singer songwriter who brings dream pop and jazz sensibilities, and he's bringing a trio to fill out the sound. I saw him a while back and was greatly intrigued, and you will be too as he and the trio perform live for us for the whole hour on KOOP 91.7 FM and koop.org, 3-4pm, Saturday, August 29th. By the way, you can still listen to the last two episodes (Hippies and Cowboys, Matt Melton) at The Singer and the Song - KOOP Radio 91.7 FM
