KOOP was honored to participate on Thursday night in the inaugural Whatanight, a dinner party, culinary showcase, and celebration, presented by Whataburger in support of the Central Texas Food Bank. KOOP DJs Jay Robillard (The Lounge Show) and Marc Fort (Ear Candy 2.0) provided the entertainment for the evening.

Today The Singer and the Song welcomes Brittany Shane to the KOOP studios. Brittany is a wonderful Austin singer songwriter who is also a member of a very cool Bangles tribute band called The Hazy Shades. Earlier this year, Brittany was diagnosed with breast cancer. She's now doing great, and just months since her treatment, she's hosting a benefit concert for Breast Cancer Resource Center of Austin. That's just the kind of positive person she is, giving back through her sweet music. I'm so happy to welcome Brittany back to The Singer and the Song, as she performs live for the whole hour on KOOP 91.7 FM and koop.org, 3-4pm, Saturday, October 17th, 2026. Join host Dennis Campa on today for another three-hour musical tour! From 12 to 2 p.m., it’s Adventures (in) Jazz Sound. Tune in for five birthday salutes: vocalists Adelaide Hall and Annette Hanshaw; bandleaders Spike Hughes and Roger Wolfe Kahn; and lyricist Tot Seymour. And then from 2 to 3 p.m., Dennis is filling in for The Darkside Daddy with a Chuck Berry Centennial Celebration. We'll hear Berry's songs performed by The Beatles, The Lovin' Spoonful, The Rolling Stones (and by Berry himself). It's all happening on 91.7 FM (and koop.org). Thanks for listening!

KOOP’s DJ Nick from Heavenly Pop Hits Hits is working to raise funds from a newly released compilation album to benefit the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, an organization dedicated to providing medical aid and food to children in Palestine. The album features unreleased tracks submitted by artists from around the world, from Austin to Tokyo and is available for a donation of any amount. To ensure that 100% of the proceeds reach the PCRF, you can make a donation at www.pcrf.net/donate Once completed, send a screenshot of your confirmation e-mail to [email protected], and he will send you a download code.
