InKind, Inc. needs Christmas stocking stuffers for men, women & children for our Refugee Christmas Project.

Ideas: socks, candy, gift cards, small toys, candles, gift items, children’s books, puzzles, costume jewelry, scarves, gloves, etc..

Just post “shine” in the comments & we will direct message you with drop off directions.

Gifts can also be dropped off (label them for InKind) at Westover Church

Dear friends of InKind, Inc.:

The past couple of weeks have been full of so many blessings.

We have sent out close to 30 baby bags into the community. One was for a premie baby in great need, the majority went to the hospitals and one went to our manager at the Sunshine Cube for his very first baby. He has been so kind to us since we moved in.

Wanted to share some pictures and thank several people.

Today, we had to say an emotional but congratulatory goodbye to two of our precious friends from Afghanistan. (Saalem Behnud & Aziz Baig - pictured with Lisa Vyvjala, from InKind) They arrived as refugees in crisis, but have excelled through hard work & the process of everything required & needed to go forward in the US.
We add our sincere thanks to their own, deeply expressed gratitude, for everyone who contributed to their journey! Especially Westover Hills Church - huge thank you!! We send them with blessings & prayers as they move to Virginia for new opportunities & the next chapter of life!
Gentlemen, you will be missed! 💖🙏

Sorry for this long post but hopefully it is worth the read.
Around February of this year, InKind, Inc. and Westover Hills Church began to discuss the possibility of adopting an Afghan family of 6.

We took on that challenge and are providing them shelter, food, clothing, legal assistance, medical assistance, translation and furnished a 2 bedroom with the help of many angels!!

The horrific story of how they got here, as well as, how the Taliban hurt & killed their loved ones would break most anyone. They were a broken people when they first arrived. But they are a loving & grateful people who have become family to us.

We believe it was God’s favor (& the help of many others Ramjaane, Luke) and His timing that they were brought into our lives.

Today, on Mother’s Day, some of them joined us at church. An incredible blessing esp. to Debbie Benaglio and myself, for whom they call mom.

Kindness transcends any language and builds bridges you never thought would appear. Never hesitate to extend kindness and love. In our own way, we can all be the hands & feet of Jesus.
