ChrysalisQ Announcement from Mary Wilson, Director
Greetings, friends. I want to share with you a decision that I have contemplated the last few months. I am going to attempt to retire again, which in this case, means stepping down from my role as director of ChrysalisQ. My last event will be our back to school play day on August 16th. I look forward to seeing you then.
I am so proud of the organization we have built together and the opportunity we have given our families to simply have a place of joy, fun, and respite. We have worked to provide families with gender expansive and questioning kids a safe haven from the political challenges in our state. As I recently said to a couple of folks, “parents don’t have to explain their kids, the kids don’t have to explain their families. Everyone can simply grow into who they are.”
I believe having a foundation of community support makes all of us stronger and healthier. It has been my great privilege and honor to be on the ground floor of building such a foundation with ChrysalisQ. But, the time has come for me to hand off the exciting future to the next generation of leadership.
To that end, I am very excited to announce that the board of directors for ChrysalisQ have hired Adrianna Ortega to become our next Programming Director. Adrianna has been a member of the ChrysalisQ board the past two years, volunteered her time at our play days, and served as a lead teacher for CampQ, our summer day camp. Her involvement with ChrysalisQ, along with her experience as a Child Life Specialist with Wonders and Worries and Caterpillar Life, makes Adrianna an exceptional fit to become the next programming director for ChrysalisQ.
I hope you will be able to join us on August 16th as I hand off my responsibilities to Adrianna. Although she is a very familiar face to everyone, I hope you’ll also give her a warm welcome as she takes on this new position.
