Austin Neighborhoods Council | 2026 City Council Candidate Forum
On October 7, the Austin Neighborhoods Council brought together City Council candidates from Districts 1, 3, 5, 8, and 9 for an evening of public discussion about the issues facing Austin and its neighborhoods.

We extend our sincere thanks to the City Council candidates from Districts 1, 3, 5, 8, and 9 who participated in the forum. We appreciate the time they devoted to preparing for and participating in the discussion, their willingness to address questions about governance and neighborhood concerns, and their contributions to an informative, nonpartisan exchange that helps Austin residents make informed decisions.
A forum like this depends on far more people than can adequately be recognized in a single post. Some contributions were extensive; others may have seemed small to the people who made them. But help freely given at exactly the moment it was needed often had an impact far greater than its size.
