Has Detective Noa R. ever told you what the R stands for? It stands for relationships. Here’s a few people who might benefit from his three-step investigation process.

Suspect #1: Sid might need to set some boundaries. She’s is overworked, underpaid, and overwhelmed by supporting her younger sister: “Sometimes, it would be nice if I didn’t have to worry about taking care of everyone else, and I could just focus on myself.”

Suspect #2: Younger Sister Estrella needs attention and support from her older sister, maybe more than Sid is able to give. “Ever since I moved here, it’s always work, work, work. What about family first? You’re being so selfish!”

Suspect #3: Jessie’s Mom has high expectations for her daughter, and doesn’t always take the time to understand her. “You have to keep up with everyone back home. As the kids say, you need to “lock in.””

🎭 A Safe Place to Fall Apart 🎭 by the Changing Lives Youth Theatre Ensemble premieres this Thursday at Decker Middle School. Get ready to meet the suspects!!

Detective Noa R: A joint has been robbed cold, and the district’s too chicken to pick up the job. Luckily, this detective is not.

Solace: This artsy kid and restaurant employee claims to be innocent. Getting some fresh air while the safe was broken into? Yeah, yeah, a likely story…

Sid: Shift lead. Minimum wage job. High stress. All the more reason to steal from your employer and get back at the man…

Jessie: A real high-hat out of California. One thing about the rich? They always want something more…and maybe that so-called fountain of wealth is running dry.

Estrella: Something of a loose cannon. Wants to go home to Puerto Rico. Well, travel don’t come cheap - that’s a motive if I’ve ever heard one.

Introducing this year’s CLYTE play: A Safe Place to Fall Apart!

Inspired by Shel Silverstein’s The Giving Tree, A Safe Place To Fall Apart explores what happens when the balance of give and take in a relationship gets out of sync. It encourages middle schoolers to explore: Where’s the line between helping someone you care about and compromising your own future and well-being? This play helps audiences identify teen economic abuse, learn to set and enforce boundaries, and see healthy examples of young people communicating their needs all through a fun Film Noir lens.

We are excited to present a workshop based on this year’s play for March’s .learningfestival. Come check out our event on Saturday, March 14th!
