Leela - An Indian Community Theatre We provide an avenue for individuals to explore and express their creative potential.

Leela, translates to the Cosmic Play of Consciousness, and finds its roots in the ancient Indian scriptures that describe the Universe as a Divine Play. The Divine creates freely, merely for the joy of it, and out of spontaneous creativity. The heart of Leela’s purpose is to provide an avenue for individuals to explore and express their creativity through collaborative theatre productions, workshops and play readings, and to evolve to their highest potential.

As the new moon rises and a new year begins, we celebrate the spirit of renewal, reflection, and togetherness.

The Lunar New Year is a time for honoring ancestors, gathering with loved ones, sharing joy, and stepping into new possibilities. These are the same values that guide us in theatre — where we explore stories, express our truths, and evolve as a community through the power of performance.

From all of us at Leela – An Indian Community Theatre, we wish you a year filled with joy, abundance, creativity, and meaningful connections. May this new chapter bring fresh inspiration, brave storytelling, and moments that bring us closer together.

Reminder: Story Circles Are Happening Today & Tomorrow

At Leela, we believe storytelling is a powerful way to name what so often goes unspoken.

Today, we gather in person.
Tomorrow, we gather virtually.

We are holding space for Asian and South Asian women who have experienced power imbalances, discrimination, or marginalization in the workplace — moments where you may have felt silenced, dismissed, or powerless in the face of a boss, colleague, or organizational culture.

Our confidential Story Circles are facilitated by an experienced coach who intentionally creates psychological safety so participants can share with care, trust, and support.

In this space:
• Your story is confidential
• No identifying information needs to be shared
• You will be witnessed by peers who understand
• You may experience catharsis in releasing what you’ve carried

Past participants have shared that simply being heard — without judgment or interruption — brought a profound sense of relief and connection.

Have you ever experienced a workplace situation where you felt powerless — perhaps in the face of a boss, colleague, or institutional hierarchy?

Have you encountered discrimination, bias, exclusion, or unfair treatment at work?

Leela is gathering Asian and South Asian women for a confidential Story Circle, a supportive space to share these lived experiences.

The circle will be guided by an experienced coach and facilitator who is deeply skilled in creating psychological safety, so that each participant feels held, respected, and supported.

Please know:
- Stories shared are confidential
- No identifying information is required
- You can share only what feels comfortable
- The purpose is not performance — it is connection

Past participants have shared that speaking their truth in community brought catharsis, relief, and the powerful feeling of being truly seen.

Parking is available downtown — nearby lots, garages, and street parking. Please allow extra time to park and get comfortably seated.

⏰ Performances begin promptly at 7 PM and 3 PM.
For 7 PM shows:
• Front doors open at 6:30 PM
• Doors close & lock at 7:15 PM — no late entry

🎭 The Uninvited Guest: A woman’s end-of-pandemic celebration takes a sharp turn when an unexpected visitor arrives — bringing the truth she’s been avoiding right to the table.

🎭 Everything Indian: A playwright’s big break becomes hilariously complicated when her idea of diversity clashes with the industry’s expectations. Amid the chaos, she must find her voice and her truth.
