📣 With Austin in Stage 5, it’s more important than ever to take precautions to keep our community members safe - so we’re making some changes! Instead of gathering together at Republic Square or Bartholomew Park, we’re distributing hundreds of hot tacos, hygiene kits, and snack bags to encampments requested by Street Forum regulars. We’ll still have outdoor, in-person preparation events, but will continue to provide hand washing stations & kn95 masks for volunteers. There are many ways to be involved - check out our bio to sign up for this week’s events, sign up for our text list, and more! 💛

We've got a few festive events coming up, and we need your help!

🎁 Presents! We're looking for donations of stocking stuffers for our holiday care kits - we’re thinking playing cards, noise makers, or individual hand sanis, but feel free to get creative! These kits will be distributed throughout the city to our unhoused neighbors to bring some cheer for the holidays.

🥡 Holiday lunch on Dec. 27th at Republic Square park. Whether you can cook, provide food, transport, pack, or serve, we’d love to work with you! It's gonna be great!

As a mutual aid organization, Street Forum acknowledges and celebrates all kinds of contributions, including but not limited to:
🚙 folks who transport materials & supplies
⏰ folks who volunteer their time to put together supply kits & cook tacos,
🧥 folks who donate extra blankets & hoodies,
🌮 folks who attend our events,
📱 folks who share our posts on social media,
🤹‍♂️ and all of the folks filling in gaps & needs all over the place!

All of these are incredibly important and helpful in building our weekly community event, where unhoused & housed folks can come together safely to enjoy a hot coffee, taco, and get a few essential needs met.

As today is , we are here to ask for financial contributions, if you are able!, to help cover the cost of our supply kits & snacks, as well as special efforts like our Cold Weather drive & this week’s special holiday lunch.

What if we train the block to be first responders before EMT arrives.

We’re on blocks with the most gun violence helping to save lives.

Shout out to Paterson Healing Collective they’ve been doing this the past few weeks. BLM Paterson will begin soon. Thankful for everyone involved and a part of this work 🙏🏿
